Arch-If they are showing a carry-over to next year of 20,000, then there is a problem. You need to direct your question to the PTA president or the IPPC president. The SB has nothing to do with the PTA's.

I'm getting the same bad vibes about the Dash. He's going to swoop in from Kentucky, wreck our school district, and leave after three years. It's all about consistency.

I would think that with that amount of scratch sitting on the books that they could afford some new things to play with at recess (jump ropes, balls, etc) instead of the germ infested disgusting dirty smelling multi-year old things that look like they were found at the landfill. (That's just one example... don't get me started) I appreciate the redirect.

I think short of the Brodie attorneys suddenly undergoing a lobotomy and coming to the table with their Brach counterparts - AME is going to be it. And the chances of BB actually working out likely aren't much better than winning the lotto A pub I used to frequent many years ago had a sign over the bar that said, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy." It has since closed, and I have a sneaking suspicion that sign might currently be on display in the attorneys' offices!

That was an excellent Doctor Demento tune ("I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."). I preferred it over fisheads (eat them up - yumm)

I'd rather have bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
Jimmy and I were brothers. We went down different paths. Jimmy always listened to my mother, And me, I never like to take a bath.
As we grew and tumbled through adulthood The pressure caused emotional drain. So now I'm slowly dying in the bottle and Jimmy has to live with half a brain.
Yes, me, I've got a bottle in front of me, And Jimmy has a frontal lobotomy. Just different ways to kill the pain the same.
But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, Than have to have a frontal lobotomy. I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane.
Jimmy let his troubles drive him crazy. He never tried to drown it in a drink. I know that drinking makes my thinking hazy, But at least I still have brains enough to think.
Jimmy's got a brain that isn't stable. He doesn't have the sense to say his name. I'm sorry that his doctor was unable To remove the proper portion of his brain.
Yes, me, I've got a bottle in front of me, And Jimmy has a frontal lobotomy. Just different ways to kill the pain the same.
But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, Than have to have a frontal lobotomy. I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane.
Funny how the world works. People can be real jerks. Some prefer the tension over booze.
Either way it ends the same. Hard to beat the living game. Might as well enjoy it while you lose.
When I need a drink I start to shiver And Jimmy always viewed it with concern. But I'd rather have cirrhosis of the liver Than an intellect that's second to a fern.
I wonder if old Jimmy's gonna hear it When I tell him that his logic wasn't sound. They'll dose him up on lots of evil spirits When they take him to the psychiatric grounds.
Yes, me, I've got a bottle in front of me, And Jimmy has a frontal lobotomy. Just different ways to kill the pain the same.
But I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, Than have to have a frontal lobotomy. I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane. I might be drunk, but at least I'm not insane.

Who else got the grape-vine letter in the watts area about taking the district survey on 'surveymonkey.com'
"Apparently there have been some very vocal negative comments received by the school board, and they want to make sure they're hearing about both sides of the story.....
... If it makes a difference in your opinion, (and I know it hasn't been published), there's a good chance May Watts will still attend the new high school."
*cough*
Apparently, some of us parents care about some larger issues other than the personal one of being assigned to the 'new school'.

hmm, maybe I should take a backup of this board for the last 6 months, split each post, and submit each one. It's readily done. Between Arch and I it should take about an hour . That way I'd know they were getting the feedback, huh?

Now I'm super confused. How is this being sold as a positive to Watts? They would be leaving their established school with a 45 minute ride to boot. ?

Gee, I wonder where that e-mail came from - I hope it was sent to all PTSA members I hope the respondents mentioned how they were thrilled with the extra 50 minutes of bus time per day are some really trying to get out of WVHS ? That's the way I would read it, why else would someone want to more than double their travel time to the longest in the district ? very disturbing

I believe your response was the intended reaction Now ensure you share those positive feelings with the SB via their feedback loop. Edit: I have been informed otherwise. The content was meant to be positive. My bad and truly my surprise.

This is getting uglier by the minute.
