I believe it is $14 million difference from the jury award.
They got a great price but at what non financial cost.

Well, all I can say to that is Ashwood Park would like to welcome all of its neighbors (White Eagle, Tall Grass, Tamarack, and so on) on the west side of 59 to WVHS. Go WARRIORS!

4. The high school and middle school should open in August 2009. OH, this gets better and better. We MAY get St. John in 2009 for the same price as BB in 2010 but no guarantees. They are already CYA with the "should" instead of "will."

ok - quick thought, maybe one of you analysts can straighten me out on this -
if population breakdown = 30% Metea, 30% WV, 40% NV - and 10% of that is in the NV Freshman Center, then the overall graduating class size is still larger at NV than the others - right?
So the NV kids are at a disadvantage as far as class rank, limited spaces on teams,, activities etc. - right?

Some consider this good, some consider this bad, some don't care, but this was always the plan, even with BB.

Oh but that doesn't include the other costs like re-doing the architectual plans. So St. John in 2009 (incomplete building) will cost more than BB in 2010. Oh, Daeschner is a master manipulator. looks like 8M more, not less

87 acres? Its a good price per acre but why so much land? I heard they are going to sell all the frontage acres to McD, Burger King and Jiffy Lube! ;D

I don't think the SB has discussed them. How would they have the bussing schedule from Laidlaw unless boundaries have been set?

I don't think the SB has discussed them. How would they have the bussing schedule from Laidlaw unless boundaries have been set? Good point. I think it is semantics. This report was done by the admin and maybe the admin drew boundaries but the SB cannot discuss them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that scenario.

They are counting on selling the 25 acres that we own at BB for $6,437,500. I thought BB said they are not interested in buying the land back from us? What if they can't sell the land?

On January 22 district administrators will make a recommendation to the board of education regarding where to build Metea Valley High School. The recommendation calls for the board to consider the purchase of 87 acres on the east side of Eola Road, bordered on the north by the Illinois Prairie Path, for $16.5 million. This parcel is owned by St. John AME Church and Midwest Generation. The administration arrived at this recommendation after the Brach-Brodie jury returned a verdict that was twice the value of comparable properties and significantly greater than the budget. Upon learning the jury's verdict, the district began exploring a number of potential options, ranging from eliminating significant portions of the building to identifying another parcel. In evaluating the options, the district used the following criteria: 1. The district needs the third high school and seventh middle school based on current enrollment and space needs. 2. The total cost will not exceed the approved referendum, interest, and other identified project revenues of approximately $146,240,000 for purchase of the land and construction of the school. 3. The third high school will be comparable to the existing high schools (i.e. pool, auditorium, stadium, etc.). 4. The high school and middle school should open in August 2009. The Eola Road location will serve the needs of the district and allow the school to be delivered on time and within budget.
