Would Garang Deng have been a walker? Definitely not. What does this have to do with anything? He lived in Butterfield, which is not within walking distance of any school.

There is something I saw that really sticks in my crawl. I am going to wait unitl I get an answer before going off on it. Is it that Daeschner negates Metzger's site selection report?

Part of the land is owned by Midwest Generation. Am I correct that this is/was a power plant? Yep. Is it just me or does this sound the least bit concerning?

The frugals should be joyous. here's some nice irony for ya - makes me want to freakin cry: I got sent this 10 minutes ago: I guess I won't have to worry about putting my name in - BOOSTER CLUB OFFICER NOMINATIONS The Waubonsie Valley Booster Club is accepting nominations for officer positions for the '08-'09 school year. Any interested individuals should contact the current Booster Club president, ...: I guess I can unsubscribe to that list now -- people like me can wait 3 years and join the boosters then with a sports program - ED: Edited to remove person's name and email address

How would they have the bussing schedule from Laidlaw unless boundaries have been set? Good point. I think it is semantics. This report was done by the admin and maybe the admin drew boundaries but the SB cannot discuss them. I don't think there is anything wrong with that scenario. The open meetings act provides that three or more board members cannot discuss somethign on which they will take action. This means that the admin can provide the board members with their proposed boundaries, and any two board members can then proceed to discuss them to their hearts' content. However, I'm sure that hasn't been happening.

So the Dash has hijacked the school for a whopping savings of $6M?? I can't believe it! All this pain , and it's just the beginning, for $6M??

You are forgetting about the 10M in hurry up costs the district has committed to spend to get the school opened in 2009. d204mom, hurry costs are $4.5-5 mil. Same number applies whether it was BB or StJ. (I see same section wp referenced) We dont have to make up or guesstimate numbers any more. They are all in front of us. It serves no purpose to throw out incorrect numbers. Sorry I was using the numbers the district used in their letter to Brach Brodie stating why they couldn't pay the jury award. From the counter motion. Funny how that number magically got chopped in half.

Sad how that number matches what the district estimates it cost us to postpone building from last fall to this spring.
This is exactly what we've talked about since Sept... no significant savingsd, more wasted time, more wasted money.

So now the cost is 146,240,000? Where are they coming up with the additional 22 million dollars? Is that money that should be going towards other things in the district? What about the cost for all the BB legal fees etc. - has that been added into the cost? The voters approved 124.5 mil.

I do think that the district can add the $6m in costs to the BB price, because we know that the land will be used. But I do not think it is accurate to reduce the price of the other parcels by the $6M unless the district has a known buyer waiting (like BB for instance)

When we were throwing inflated or just flat out wrong numbers at them to justify why we couldn't pay the jury award. This whole fiasco is just such a shame.

Is it just me or does this sound the least bit concerning? It is the peaker plant with the fuel tank...going to be removed...so no more "fuel tank" hazard.
