I still like the idea of naming the school for an outstanding individual who was known for his or her great character and changed the world for the better. I like the idea of naming the high school Ronald Reagan High School and naming the middle school Paul Simon Middle School. then can we have an "Art Garfunkle" feeder elementary school?

Sorry jb, Navy and orange is NNHS colors. Purple is the color of royalty! Yeah, it's also the color of Barney the Dinosaur. ;D Go Illini ! A little more diggin' and I came up with several Potty leaders..... Ashkum - supposedly the jokster of the tirbe??? Metea(pronounced Metawa) advocated educating Indian children...hmmmm Shabonna, already mentioned and last but not least Pekineni -which supposedly translates to Fox....wouldn't that be nice, get it ...Fox Valley??? Too bad it's such an ugly word! Nice research! Can't say any roll right off the tongue, but I can imagine folks were having the same conversation when "Waubonsie" and "Neuqua" were proposed. I like Metea, great symbolism. I like Metea too. It would also continue the great 204 tradition of HS names that outside people aren't exactly sure how to pronounce.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I lived this thing and I thank you all for your efforts. I was a block captain and am very proud that the Ref passed. I congratulate all of you for standing up for quality education. Might I suggest for your consideration the following names for the new school. 1. Prairie Valley High School Keeping the Valley Theme throughout all three schools and using the name of the district. 2. Napora Valley Naperville and Aurora together. Kind of sounds indian? 3. Central Valley - Centrally located in the district Central Valley Sentinals - Aurora is the city of lights. 4. Fox Valley High School - Fox Valley Mallers (Maulers) 5. Shanequa High - Daughter of Waubonsie My favorite is Prairie Valley. Again, thanks to all the volunteers.

My favorite is Prairie Valley. You, and some other schools, too. A quick scan of a google search for "prairie valley" shows at least 3 school disctricts named Prairie Valley (in TX, IA, and CA). A quick scan of a google search for "prairie valley high" shows at least 2 high schools named Prairie Valley (in TX and IA). Not that this means the name should or shouldn't be used - just throwin' out some info.

Beefeater High School -
So that the Helen Brach Association knows that we don't like chicken, turkey, eggs, etc.
That way, they might pressure the lawyers to give the kids their school by 2008.
United Poultry Concerns (UPC), one group that the foundation has contributed to, protests the eating of chicken, turkey, geese, ducks and eggs.
or
Horse Lover's High (HLH)
I heard that Helen Brach loved horses.

I like black and gold for colors and Matea Valley. I think it's a good idea to stay with the Native American/valley theme. Otherwise, I wish the estate could be convinced to take a reduction in price with the promise of "Helen Vorhees Brach HS".

The Indians had no written language...so we could take poetic license and spell it Metaua Valley? ? If you look on the web, there are about three or four different spellings of Wabonsie, Waubonsie, Waubonsee etc. How about Metaua Valley Prairiehawks? Then they can be MVP's!!!
