So what would your suggestion be that they take under consideration? What is your definition have the deck stacked against them? Balancing was a stated goal in the past. Why no mention of it now? OK how would you balance things? Every senario I have seen NVHS still comes out on top with the other 2 close behind (not in a bad way)

Just using Gmaps again from the front of Owen School 5 miles to NV 5.8 to WV 8.1 to MV Funny to read back through this thread. After hearing Glawe's comments that Watts Owen and Cowlishaw are way out in the middle of nowhere. LOL! Good times. If you want to laugh along it's at 2:05. Correction, they're "kinda to the side so there is (sic) some commutes." Wait I thought boundaries weren't finalized. ipsdweb.ipsd.org/News.aspx?id=17332

Well, when the school board president sends me an email this week referring to Waubonsie as "an ugly step child", and a "permanent albatross" then yep, it's time to do something. If I, and my family can be part of a positive change - then I'm up for it. I'm just hoping those 'ol time Warriors can keep up with the new kids on the block ;) Well, in White Eagle's case it's more the really old, left for a while, welcome back kids on the block. Please post the email because the connotation and negative perception continues to be orchestrated by the Board and that has to stop. I find it hard to believe he would do that. Stick to the job at hand SB. MM called WVHS an albatross during the SB meeting. It's on the video.

'Owen east' is made up of Brighton Ridge, Westglen, etc. right? those are our land neighbors ( and moved in same time we did) - and used to be part of Watts, . So somehow they will be viewed as south, and we are north- even though we used to go to the same ES and ony75th street divides us-- gee that central region of 204 keeps shrinking, now it's only 4 lanes wide.

It's around 2:16:15 on the video. He says Macom and Hamman would require boundaries that would create a WVHS that would become an albatross around everybody's neck. Macom never had a chance because the district is on a mission to create a NEW WVHS. BTW...we voted for a third HS to relieve overcrowding. We didn't vote for a NEW WVHS.

They used to go to Cowlishaw as well. It really seems like an odd place to have put that school (Owen) ... I was here when it happened but don't remember what was going on with it. Also seems odd that the land in Butterfield subdivision that would/could have been used for a school for the far northern kids wound up being turned over to the park district.

So we're in agreement that he did NOT say WV is an albatross. Macom didn't stand a chance for a number of reasons. If the land had been ready to start building this spring with the owners in agreement, then who knows?

I know when we moved in BR only went to Watts ( and Hill)
