I have nothing against the BD community and have spent a lot of time in it in my 20 years in the district - and I said they had every right to vote no.
I also disagreed with having only 1 of 4 feeders go to WV - and I was hoping that would either be addressed in further discussions or when the MS boundaries were going to be redone - one or the other...

remember I worked side by side with many peoiple from there on 204tk and vote yes ( and lets not forget wind204 - or maybe we should forget that one) --

what I am saying is that risked the 3rd HS also....

also let's remember not all of us who were assigned to BB were thrilled either. Starting a new school stinks for the first few classes through under the best of situations. I had no issue going to any of the 3 high schools, but a shiny new school held little allure for many I know. And a good chance we would have changed MS's also.

but putting up with opening a new school and all the downsides to that - were are least made a little easier in that the site had no health risks, and did not triple our current commute. Now we get the short end of all of it and basically are told to sit down and shut up. And there will be no further discussions on anything - this is the lot we have period. SO even for those who do not have EPA type concerns here - the rest still stinks also.
And I can tell you we resent being told we are some kind of lap dog for a few people who don't want to go to WVHS - ( which is not an accurate portrayal of nsfoc anyway IMHO ) -

so sorry if I am an angry man over this, but I am far from alone here in this feeling, and there are those from Cowlishaw that feel exactly the same way.


as for CFO, I fought that same group - every day for 2 years - as I continually say, I am still 100% pro 3rd HS - just not on that site. I don't think I'm being unfair

My only question is why don't we wait for the safety reports - why are people so ready to dismiss what the professionals have to say about the safety of the site?

I don't know what you do, but if the residents were telling me how to do my job, I'd find it weird. Everyone has an opinion but .. to slam a site without proper qualifications I just find strange.

That's all - sidewalk supervising, it feels like to me, at its finest...

My last child would go to Metea and I'm fine with it.

Adolescents in that age group die of motor vehicles, unintentional injury and firearms. Truly worried about children's safety - why isn't this group fighting those issues?

I just think NSFOC is disappointed not to go to brand new shiny high- I honestly don't believe safety is a true concern. At their meeting last night, my friend mentioned it was agenda item #3 .. hmmm... not at the top of their list ..

I don't envy anyone with a lng drive - that stinks! And I know -just going to WVHS after school for activities was an icky experience until the student could drive ...!

We’ve all heard that desperate times call for desperate measures. Well the NSFOC is desperate -– and knowing they can’t win their lawsuit, their 200 paying members have somehow convinced certain state legislators to take up the fight.

Over the past few weeks, almost all of you have asked what you can do to help. From what we’ve heard, we think your help is needed immediately. Now that the NSFOC has convinced legislators to spread their misinformation and scare tactics, they are working hand-in-hand to pressure Midwest Generation to cease contract negotiations with District 204 (Midwest Gen along with AME are the two current owners of the land upon which Metea will be built).

If Midwest Generation is scared/threatened into backing out of the deal (and with Brach-Brodie no longer an option), the potential result is devastating: two high schools, middle school and high school overcrowding, and split shifts for D204 high school students. If this sounds like the exact opposite of what you voted for -– and these actions deepen your disdain for the NSFOC -- these legislators need to hear from you and the rest of the Silent Majority.

Here are the legislators who have decided to support the NSFOC (and in the process, are showing complete disregard for your vote for our much-needed 3rd high school). To show your support, we ask that you contact them as soon as possible to voice your support for the 3rd high school and the Eola site –- as well as your disappointment in their highly questionable motives for disregarding your vote.

I've said to many that the May Watts group that is not in support has the right to their opinions and I don't think anyone would argue against that. I know it was frustrating for Brookdale when people told us too bad about the drive. the drive would be bad enough as I have said ad nauseum....but I cannot accept what is at the end of the drive,,,and that is true for many of us here.

I did not vote to spend $150M for less than an optimal site. The SB said repeatedly we would pay a premium for a site wirthy of our HS.... they reneged on that promise. I cannot support that.
My childs ( and every child's ) safety should not go to the lowest bidder - cheaper price.

Except you forgot "What if a meteor lands on us tomorrow! Why should we even worry about contaminated soil on our kids' school site when we will get smashed by the meteor anyway".

I don't agree with SK's idea that because White Eagle is getting punched also that TG is to blame. It is the people who are trying to divert the real issues, lock in the deal, and villianize the enemies of the recent and distant past.

I suppose the statute of limitation runs out when we finally have a school. I wore an orange shirt and was a yes vote. There were lots of emails forwarded to brookdale residents that were from Tall Grass res. I am certain they never intended to be forwarded but were. There was also a group that later represented them selves as from tall grass that before one of the meeting walked by a Brookdale group and yelled about not wanting to have to go with those kids from Waubonsie. How about the blog recently on this very post that talked about not wanting to have to send their kids to school with kids from Hill.

Fact is this has gotten ugly and this is about who people don't want to go to school with. I know there are people from WE & TG that are getting caught in the cross fire. But I suppose that is no different then how people treated me as a Brookdale Res in the orange shirt.

Anyway back to split shifts.

The fact is anyone can post in the blog pretending to be a 'pompous elitist' and actually not be from that area. It's called misinformation and it happens all the time because it fits an agenda.
