If any of these areas were getting the 'Brookdale deal' in the boundaries they would be left at their ORIGINAL HS, Just like Brookdale was. Brookdale was getting no further distance/time added to their HS commute. Nothing in that regard was changing for them. Your apples to apples is really apples to tripe. How could Brookdale have gone to a farther school? WVHS is the farthest school. It is about as far away as Nequa. Newsflash: First off, They are not going to the farthest school. You are argueing and trying to stand on a point that did not happen. Secondly, being that you are the poster who has an infatuation with GoogleMaps and distances, I am surprised you did not post routes to both to prove your point. Hill to WV, 5.7miles. Hill to NV, 6.8 miles. Even in the boundaries that never happened, Brookdale did not go to the farthest school.

Wouldn't that be great? If we could re- vote? Now there's an idea. And I guarantee you that if you presented Owen/Watts/Cowlishaw/ Fry/Gombert/ White Eagle with the option to be an island, split their middle school AND STAY at their current HS assignment, you'd have closer to 100% YES votes. That a rediculous statement. And it is imposible, you have to more people out of NVHS. Are you saying that with the BB site, if Watts, Owen and Colishaw were being asked to stay at WVHS and drive right past the new HS they would have supported the referendum? Highly unlikely! I am still waiting to hear from the 20% of Fry and Watts that support these boundaries. 1 out of 5 supported the referendum and they were clearly getting a worse deal that Fry and Watts are getting now. I guarantee that if that HS was more than 6 miles from their house and they were building a new school closer to their house and all of their MS and geographic neighbors were going to that new HS

I would have happily driven right by and so would some very close friends in the COWL area. Why? No Change from today. That's why.

At least we are in agreement there, even under the old boundaries, they were not and your statement was false.

I said second longest - and that was based on the transportation "map" times thee proposal include. Fry was listed at 33 min. average commute - 2nd only to Owens 35. Oh, yes that, the busing map. True, you commute is being increased by 4 minutes. Your current average bus time is 29 minutes right? Do you really have a beef with 4 minutes? No - the bus route for my personal neighborhood stopis now a 3 MIN RETURN time. Route #: NVH229 NVHS Outbound (NVHS to Rollingridge and Junebreeze) To School depending which corner they stand on - several choices within 1/2 block the longest choice is 12 min. Route #: NVH019 NVHS Inbound So no - my commute time is not increasing by 4 minutes. It is increasing 10 fold! So yes, I take issue with that.

CB acted in the interest of the district because he HAD to get VOTES. It was not a selfless act. IMO, CB thought the most important thing for the district was a new school. As such, he voted on the boundaries that he felt would have the best chance of helping the referendum pass. Regardless of the fact that it forced his neighborhood To be... 1. On an attendance island 2. Split from their middle school 3. Longest commute in the district (driving right past the new HS to get to WVHS) (6+ miles) They were asking this of the 5th worst performing ES in the district. The island is even more significant because the ES is the 2nd or 3rd smallest. It is also one of the title 1 schools in the district. Seems to me that doing all this to his neighbors to get the referendum approved (because "he HAD to get the VOTES"), which he believed was in the best interest of the district was a pretty selfless act. Amen Beefeater. CB is a bigger man than most to have done that.

Yes, not the farthest HS, WVHS is 0.5 miles closer than NVHS and 1.5 miles further than BB. Now let me ask you a question. What would you have felt if the school was going in at BB and you stayed at WVHS, but Colishaw, Longwood, Owen and Brookdale were all going to the new school. Tell me you would have supported the referendum, I dare you. I supported the referendum along with 1 out of 5 of my neighbors. Your commute to the new school is 5.7 miles. You are not on geographic attendance island you are not being split from you neighbors, you do not have a commute in excess of 6 miles. you are going to a beautiful new school. What is your beef. Give it to me, I am afterall thebeefeater.

Amen Beefeater. CB is a bigger man than most to have done that. I agree, his vote was admirable even though his neighbors were quite angry and came out to the tune of 4:1 to attempt to sink the entire referendum.

If the PD clearing of the parking lot area is safe enough for the kids to walk that sidewalk from their cars, there should be no question. They stated incorrect information because it was the answer they wanted to hear. Again not in the best interest of our kids. Absolutely agree. This is what pi$$es everyone off. The misleading, incomplete, poorly researched, flat out wrong information used to "justify" their decisions. We are tired of the spin spin spin. Don't put some stupid justification letter on why it's ok to screw Fry but not Steck. It makes people mad. It makes me mad and I don't even live there. They shouldn't have even published the numbers they used to justify walking away from Brach Brodie either because that pi$$ed people off too. First they hide the $8 MIL in bond premiums then they put it out there for everyone to see. And heaven forbid it takes 2 years to sell the 25 acres in this crappy real estate market or else we can't finish the school!
