60% of 150 = 90 there are ~2000 parents in WE so that'd be about 5% - The 5% that were pissed enough to show up. You are right 5% of the total pop. is not many. In your opinion, how representative of the remainder that did not show up is that? (the 60% that is) I don't think I can answer that question - I know a very limited number of people. I will say there were a lot of people there that are quite uninformed about the decisions and past of the district.

I was also at the meeting. I did get the impression at the end of the meeting, after discussion, most believed we would be going to WV and most thought we could make it our great school. Although a lot of whiny things came up, at the end, I had a better feeling. What did surprise me though, is just how uniformed many people are. I can't speak for the entire neighborhood, but I do think WE digested the idea that we are geographically logical to move out of NV. Our voting numbers for the referendum proved that. Thanks for that sushi. you have restored some of my confidence in WE. I agree. Someone trying to find a positive given a bad situation. Very refreshing on this board. Now If I can just get Eagle Dad to change his name back to Warrior Dad.....

I think that part is the same in every ES area - many/most people rely on certain others in the community to keep them informed- and countelss others don't know, are oblivious to what's going on until something happens and then they want to know why.

Okay I'm going to try this again! I'm a real estate agent and that is just bad information. According to the MLS (which I just checked) there are 37 active listings in the Fry attendance area. 4 of those are under contract including one which just sold in 1 day! There is only 1 contract that was sold and then reactivated and that happenen back on January 16 - long before the boundaries were announced. Passing on this type of mis-information is doing nothing to help the cause. not true! Macy...not true that WarriorDiva is a real estate agent or not true that she is telling the truth? Who is your source? Neighborhood gossip or a real estate agent. I would believe WarriorDiva over someone trying to spread fear within your community. Hey, I heard a home in River Run just went back on the market. Maybe because it was a fear about Neuqua. Or maybe it was because the buyer didn't qualify for the home......we are in a sluggish market.

Gatormom, when the administration presents lies to the community and boundaries that do
not fit the criteria put forth by the administration, it is upsetting. Stop making this a WV thing.
I am very tired of hearing that. These boundaries do not cut transportation times,
achievement gaps, prevent splits, ect. To call people snobs because they want what is fair
and logical is uncalled for.
AGAIN THIS IS THE WRONG SITE.

Geez, NV the place everyone wants to be and WE wants to make space for us. Thanks guys. And ED, getting harder and harder not to judge the area by the actions of the few but as usual, I won't. I have quite a few friends from WE who are not ignorant snobs. We are not shooting the messenger...but you stated ~60%...that's more than a "few".......Some bad memories are starting to resurface...... Thanks for that sushi. you have restored some of my confidence in WE. Its funny how the ignorance of some and also the stereotyping of neighborhoods because of the actions of some boneheads stands out very clearly. Some people's comments at the meeting were ignorant, but no more ignorant than some of the comments on this board, especially the backhanded compliments from 2 moderators. and WVHSparent, I don't think that anyone cares what your personal confidence barometer reading of White Eagle is at any moment.

Now If I can just get Eagle Dad to change his name back to Warrior Dad..... Gimme an Owen/McCarty Swap and I'm your biggest booster. Ignore my input and keep it the lowest performing school in the district and I'm afraid you won't see me or my kids at WVHS. Sorry, I have my convictions and I stand pretty firm by them.

They need to fix the Scullen split, I would love my kids to continue their friendships with the WE kids in the MS and into HS. I would like them to fix the Peterson splits(is west of 59 was choosen then ALL of Peterson goes), and if the north wants a brand new HS then they need to experience what we have experienced in the south and open a new school. That means they can pull Steck and McCarty and keep Watts/Cowl at WV and not lengthen their commute!!! Many in the south have gone to several different schools without moving from their house. If the SB/administration can fix there problems maybe you wouldn't have so many angry communities. Not snobs.

Not sure how I feel about this whole thing. I guess I don't see a difference between the education my kids would have received at NV if no 3rd hs vs the education they will receive at WV. Why would having 3 of the 4 lowest performing schools change my kids education? I have been trying to think how this would affect my children and I cannot see how.
Help me out, am I missing something? I just don't see it.

If WE is that concerned - maybe they'd consider swapping their commute for ours - and they could go to MV and not be in the lowest performing school - and we'd gladly replace them at WVHS - it works to everyone's advantage ISAT score wise. I'd make that deal in a second if I wasn't worried about my kids growing a third eyeball. No thanks - the erector set is all yours. Another example of why the SB (who I have no love for) is just going to rubber-stamp this. Even posters on this supposedly informed site who think in the best interest of everyone in the district only think that way when their personal situation is ok. In the end, everyone wants the best for themselves and they will leave the bad parts (the erector set) willingly to some other person as long as they get what they want. No way everyone will be happy.

Does everyone really think they will approve a set of boundaries tomorrow night?
Am I the only one thinking it's premature given that we haven't seen the Phase II and we haven't closed on the property yet?

Then post your source and where we can verify it. I'm still interested in Macy's response to WarriorDiva's facts on the Fry attendance area real estate. I too am likely to believe a real estate agent vs. someone that claims to have a "very credible source of information." Again, let's deal with the facts.
