Maybe if there were four stories to the building instead of two and they had a parking garage instead of a lot. Still would be too tight and too expensive. are they also moving the 3 gas mains ? Do you think MWGEN is going to remediate the land next door now that they are not selling ? Is the populati moving closer to the school so that future transportation costs don't outstrip up front savings ? If the answer is yes to all of the above .......then maybe there's reason to consider.

Metea Valley Land Reported by 204-info@ipsd.org on 4/10/08
For the past few months, the school district has pursued the purchase of 49 acres of land from St. John AME Church and 37 acres from Midwest Generation for the construction of Metea Valley High School. Midwest Generation announced today that it is no longer willing to sell the district its 37 acres. A copy of the letter the district received from Midwest Generation stating such may be viewed at the link below.
Our two high schools are overcrowded today with 8,200 students. As our existing middle school students move up through the grades, we will have an additional 1,000 high school students by 2011. Several of our middle schools are also facing overcrowding which needs to be alleviated with the opening of our seventh middle school.
We are currently investigating fiscally responsible land options that will move construction forward to ease the overcrowding.
I will continue to bring you updates as we have more information.
Stephen Daeschner Superintendent

Does this negotiation involve a barrel and bending over? ... we all get to take turns in it too. Mine's Sunday.

Hamman and Macom are both open to resident protests...If it were me I'd buy BB tomorrow and start construction on Monday. This has gone far enough.
I agree, Sashimi, it's time to let the SB know we support BB. Fiscal Responsibility was lost long ago, in the interests of saving money, of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if we filed a condemnation suit for the rest of AME to avoid Brach Brodie at this point. Now ego and pride are involved there is no telling where it will stop. I think someone in State Government would slap us real hard if we tried that after the last time....don't think that is an option nor would I want it to be?

A jury would set the price at 1 million / acre knowing our previous luck in that department.

Did anyone read Midwest Gen's letter (the attachment to Dash's email today?) It says that a grassroots effort disseminated incorrect and misleading information about Midwest Generation and the school distict. I'd like them to be specific about which information diseminated was incorrect. Can't figure out what that would be.

Where does this leave us, seriously? If BB is too expensive, Hamman and Macom have problems, what do we have? I can eat some more crow, but I really don't see BB happening. Anybody got 80 acres? 15 million?
