Thank you bob for summarizing enrollment. Take any chunk of 4 yrs...such as 3rd-6th, thats 9159. Thats three high schools worth of students.
The go-foward choices after BB verdict changes NOTHING about the communities careful consideration of the need for a 3rd HS.

Wasn't there 3 projections?
The laughable NIU (10,400) one, a SD one and a referendum committee one.

Thanks for those numbers DPC.
But I'm curious, what would your project the 30 day numbers to be compared to the 6 day? Do you think they will be up? down? by how much? take a guess.

Wasn't there 3 projections? The laughable NIU (10,400) one, a SD one and a referendum committee one. From a 204 email that I saved during the referendum: We are on pace to have the two largest high schools in the state with approximately 5,000 students each. I couldn't find anything more detailed, with a quick look, but the weren't the approximate projected capacity numbers NV 4000, WV 3000, and MV 3000? So, the 10,000 seems to be what the SB was projecting & targeting.

The school district and referendum committees have always stated that HS enrollment will exceed 10,000 in the near future. This is a snippet from one of the 204 the kids marketing flyers: If the Referendum Fails!
District 204 will be left with two 5000 + student Mega High Schools by 2009, the two largest single building high schools in Illinois. Students will be forced to attend split shifts

Wasn't there 3 projections? The laughable NIU (10,400) one, a SD one and a referendum committee one. And here is yet another snippet from the district websiteon 3HS: Superintendent's Message As the district faces overcrowding in its middle and high schools, the Board of Education continues to discuss the space challenge and works to solve the problem.
The board began this process by studying enrollment projections. They concluded that the district expects to see an enrollment range of 7,300 to 8,000 students at the middle school level and 9,700 to 10,400 at the high school level over the next 10 years.

DPC, you differences are 1st grade class of this year vs 1st grade class of next year.
The K picked up over 200 kids from k -1 .
Then now k 1988 2199 1 2358 2360 2 2259 2258 3 2324 2326 4 2213 2271 5 2292 2301
ES 13434
6 2330 2344 7 2383 2362 8 2170 2126
MS 6883
9 2139 2075 10 2086 2028 11 1916 1857 12 1769
Now the projections probably had Ashwood being built full out along with the rest of any unbuilt area. The housing bust will put a damp on those projections. I think we will be in a 9000-9400 range from here on out.
