I am assuming that this second assault did not occur at the school, but if it did, I swear to God I am going to quit my full time gig and see if I can represent this family in their civil suit against the District (I could retire on the 1/3 contingency fee).
Egg on the face is now a fluffy omelet with a free rooty tooty fresh and fruitie pancake special (and all you can eat bacon). I just hope that Dr. D does not drip any of the pancake syrup on his save the children tie.

I heard that this attack happened at school from several people who live in the nieghborhood. Maybe MM can ask Ms. Senger to pass legislation that allows for a school district to protect a student who is sexually assaulted by a fellow student outside of school grounds and then assaulted the next day on school grounds? As little as I think of Dr. D, I can not believe that it is possible this assault happened at school (how could they not act?). IMO, This would border on gross negligence and wilfull disregard to the well being of the victimized student.

Perhaps we found the rationale behind the "we had no idea" party line now.... *sigh*
The 'should have known' part is ringing in the back of my mind as is that $2.3 million dollar liability case from 2003 that I posted about...
.. if this turns out that it happened on school grounds....
That poor kid.

I just keep thinking.....WOW. If this assault happened ON CAMPUS.....WOW.
The district would not even take a meeting with the family. WOW.
If true, someone will lose their job on this one....have too. JHB can write as many stories as JHB wants to, but the press is going to eat this alive and no way the Board is going to take one for the team on this one (especially with two incumbants running for reelection).
WOW

The Sun Article says that the father said it happened at school. This gets worse and worse.

I do too, but common sense says felony sexual assault charges should have been enough to warrant removal of the accused for the safety of all the other students. RIP, Common Sense.

I heard that this attack happened at school from several people who live in the nieghborhood. How is the Gregory community doing given all of this information that is becoming so public? If this really did happen on the school grounds, I think that the Gregory parents would be upset.

WOW nope they dish out the 'take one for the team' not accept it. This was one of the worst scenarios that could play out -- and for those who were worried about being sued if we did act- - well.....this was always a two headed coin toss.

Read the story... It occurred in school...
The father of the alleged victim, when contacted Tuesday by the Naperville Sun, would confirm only his son was attacked inside the school in the battery case.
“The school district has been aware since it occurred, and yet the superintendent has failed to act,” the man wrote in an e-mail.
A District 204 spokeswoman on Tuesday referred media inquiries to Jack Canna, the district’s attorney.

wonder why the father did not mention at the SB meeting? did his 3 minutes run out ? I suspect it had something to do with the fact that charges had not yet been filed on that incident. If the state's attorney's office was still investigating, they may very well have asked him not to talk about it publicly until they reached a conclusion.

That certainly makes sense and I expect that he was asked not to talk about the second battery in that charges had not been filed. Regardless, I guarantee you that if this in fact occured at school, the school and the District would be very well aware of this claim in that the police would not investigate an occurance at the school without advising the school officials (the father did not have to bring this up at the school board meeting to make 204 school officials aware of this).

Shame on you SD. This makes me sick. Where are the leaders in our schools and administration? I don't believe for one minute that the SB did not know anything about this - especially since there was another assalt the very next day!!!! Total injustice!!!!!!!!!!!
My heart and prayers go out to this boy and his family.
