Absent a new majority, nothing will change whatsoever. How about a "no majority" or 4 independent thinkers? Some people are tired of the old majority and don't want a repeat of the past few years with a new majority either. Well, I'm looking at a graphic attached to an email that says Vote for: DeSart, Rasmus, Rising and Piehl... Since those 4 in the email look like a Majority, I should take the advice and NOT VOTE for them because they are a MAJORITY SLATE, right? winsome.cnchost.com/204/D204-Slate.pdf--- On Mon, 3/23/09, Lisa Neihardt <lisaneihardt@sbcglobal.net> wrote: From: Lisa Neihardt <lisaneihardt@sbcglobal.net> Subject: Fw: 204 Election -- Don't Get Hi Jacked! I just received a pdf "flyer" with the same "slate" of four names attached. It was ridiculous! Here's the email.... can't figure out how to post the attachment. Kinda funny. Don't VOTE for that Slate of 4, vote for this Slate of 4. Guess nobody can complain about a slate anymore. Am I the only one getting really sick of this? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Subject: 204 Election -- Don't Get Hi Jacked! To: Date: Monday, March 23, 2009, 12:18 PM URGENT -- PLEASE PASS THE ATTACHED FLYER ONTO ALL 204 RESIDENTS!!! I find this really funny. I states the following: "There are four men from South Naperville running as group for the District 204 Board with the intent of taking control of the board. If elected, they would control the seven member board and make all decisions." Then it goes on to advise people to vote for a different slate of 4 as if they won't take control of the board. ETA: If anything, this flyer gave me a good chuckle.

It's the same crap that happened last year when they called people racist because they said they didn't want to go to WV... but at the same time, they were chomping at the bit to GET OUT of WV... 'for the children'....

Even funnier is that the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Political Action Commission says: "Endorsed candidates for District 204 include incumbent Cathy Piehl and newcomers Dawn DeSart, Jerry Huang, Susan Rasmus and Mark Rising." Endorsing 5 for 4 seats... then says: "NACPAC took a position against the idea of a slate of candidates, Culloton said. The only slated candidate the board endorsed was Jerry Huang for District 204." ALL of their endorsements are on a 'slate'.. THE ENTIRE SLATE OF RASMUS, PIEHL, RISING, DeSART *plus* Jerry www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/1491279,Chamber-announces-endorsements-NA032309.article For a Chamber of Commerce, is it odd that they only endorse one business owner? Oh wait, this is politics... One only needs to see who is involved with the group to see why they endorsed who they did.

I don't believe anyone is running as a slate except the 4 whose names are all on the same sign. One can assume others are running as a slate because some people put them together as who they are voting for.
I'm voting for Yuming Huang, Janey Wagner, CV and Stick. Are they a slate too then?

'for the children'.... Yeah agree. In fact, I believe they called some people racist that NEVER uttered a bad word about Waubonsie. It was a blanket statement directed at entire areas, not individuals from what I remember.

Interesting that this 'unofficial slate' was rumored about over a month ago... coincidence? Not in politics... Trying to project otherwise is as bad as telling the voters they don't know how to read a ballot.

Personally, I can't stand when anyone tells me who to vote for. I pick everyone based on whether they actually deserve to be on the board....not whether they are from this slate or that slate.

I don't think the above four are a slate, no. I just found it funny that the pdf criticized a group running as a slate and then went on to endorse a slate. Furthermore, I think everyone should vote for whatever candidate (regardless of slate, location, etc.) best meets the criteria they deem important.

Are we really going to generalize like that again? I thought we knew that SOME does not represent ALL, but go there if you need to, Arch.

SOME did say it, as SOME are saying to vote for these 4 and not those 4.. because somehow one majority is better than the other majority.

I'd like to hear which of the new slate will stand up and say. "My name is ________, and I approve this add" I'd be surprised if Dawn or Cathy did, they seem fairly independent.

Well, I wish you would've said so in the first place. ;D So are the some sending out the emails the same some who were trying to ditch WV? Or is it a whole new some?
