Yanked another from Green, I don't seem to be on his distribution list.....
Below, Mark states, "I have demonstrated my commitment to communications for the past three years by attending school board meetings and raising issues during public comment opportunities..."
Can anyone ( SouthernWolf ? ) please let me know what these public commets were? I can't seem to find his name anywhere in SB minutes. What I'm left with is the feeling that he watches, but doesn't do. My expectation is that something should have fired him up. There has also been some indication that he's, lets say "stretching", the truth with his number of SB meetings claim - this is from SB members.

New email from Mark. 4/4/09
Greetings, D204. Over the last several months, it has been a pleasure meeting and communicating with many of you as I work to become one of your school board members. The purpose of today's email is to provide some of my perspective regarding some words that are being casually used by a number of the D204 candidates. These words are Communications, Accountability, and Transparency.
Communications
-- I view communications as the process by which information is exchanged between individuals and as the act of sincerely listening and trying to understand the viewpoints of others while presenting one's perspective in a civil and professional manner. I believe strong communications is essential if our school district is to move forward and partner with the community. I have demonstrated my commitment to communications for the past three years by attending school board meetings and raising issues during public comment opportunities and also through private conversations or emails with school board members and residents. In that timeframe and during this campaign I have met hundreds of people all across our district and have talked to them regarding their concerns about D204, current issues facing D204, the school board and the superintendent. I am committed to continuing and expanding on my past efforts and record to ensure that we excel at communicating with the community.
Accountability
-- I view accountability as an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility. I have shown with my past efforts that I have a commitment, knowledge, and passion about D204. I will continue this effort and will commit whatever time is necessary to ensure I understand and am working for all of the stakeholders of the district, be they our students, teachers and staff, or residents and taxpayers.
Transparency
-- To me transparency is the act of being open and lacking hidden agendas. As it relates to D204 board service, I also view it as being proactive with the communications of school district matters and not requiring individuals seeking information to pursue difficult channels to get such information. Availability of information is required for collaboration, and collective decision-making, and most importantly, to ensure that appropriate community feedback and insight can be garnered. I am committed to making the board more transparent in order to better serve our stakeholders.
I hope my track record of involvement with school district matters over the past several years provides evidence of my desire to help make the district better. I would be honored to have your vote and commit to represent all stakeholders in the district in a fashion that both you and I can be proud of.
