No it's likely just 'some ' of the parents fault is what I'd expect you'll find -I may have to read just to see how it goes --

Hello All I just pulled this off Mark's Web site. It contains a link to his financial filing (D-1?). NOW I CALL THIS TRANSPARACY. I would like to see all candidates file even if they fall under the filing threshold. Clear, transparent and open. Campaign Financing Information I believe communication, accountability, and transparency are the keys to building trust between the D204 community and our school board. To provide the community transparency into my campaign, I have filed paperwork with the Illinois State Board of Elections showing the formation of my campaign committee (form D-1, Statement of Organization) and contributions through March 8, 2009 (form D-2, Pre-Election Report). Link to Illinois State Board of Elections, Candidate Reports for Mark Rising, D204 School Board www.elections.state.il.us/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?id=21977

Arch, some day you are going to have to show me how to use google and my computer properly. Everytime I try to reserach something, I get a million links to crap I am not looking for Interesting to be sure, but this is back in 2005 and moreover, I donated as much to NSFOC. I have also donated small amounts to political campaigns in the past (not since I have lived in CHicago which is 4 years) after I saw some things I liked about a candidate. If its an OFFICER of the company and LARGE AMOUNTS and using family members to donate money as well; then I would have my other eyebrow raised as well. To really do it up right in the current election for school board, one would need to donate to 4 candidates prior (not after) the election. I wonder if any unions out there are donating to candidates through 3rd party pacs? much more difficult to research and obtain the data versus an individual giving money in a govenor's race. Arch, I bet you could find it if it is happening I certainly couldnt given my feeble googling skills previously mentioned Cheers have a good nite GF

If he filed something with the state elections board that isn't required, I'm not sure that's striking a great blow for transparency. However, if I read the report correctly, he's spent about four times more than he's taken in. Maybe he's well qualified for the SB after all.

Yanked from GM (I don't have a date on the actual Email): ========== Hi, I'm Mark Rising and I am running for a seat on the Indian Prairie District 204 School Board and I’d like to remind you that Election Day is April 7th. The endorsement I received this week from the Daily Herald highlights one of the key issues I’m running on, communication: “Rising has been a regular at board meetings for several years and seems to offer a calm but clear and perhaps even passionate vision for a more responsive district.” Simply “doing a better job of communicating” is a good start, but it isn’t enough. It’s important that all members of the school board learn more about our district’s finances, programs, personnel, and facilities and talk about these things with the community. I believe an engaged and knowledgeable community is better equipped to understand the decisions the School Board makes and the reasoning behind these decisions. Being a member of our school board requires dedication and passion and, if elected, I will never take the job lightly. I will work diligently to represent everyone in D204. I have met many caring parents and people in our community during my 11 involved years in D204 and during this campaign. I believe I will be a board member you can be proud of. I would be honored to earn your vote April 7th. Please visit my website www.rising204.com for more information. Thanks for your support, Mark Rising
