I don't have my schedule put into stone yet and there's a pending trip that has a sliding window that I don't know about. So, whomever, post up whichever you think is easier to decipher: Dates/time frames that will work or dates/times that won't work. Some people have schedules that might be easier to explain one way or the other I'm almost always available any evening after 9/9:30PM. Any other night-owls?

Oddly enough, I am both a ChicoryOwl, and a night owl. Getting together at 9 would work in many cases for me. If I need to work late downtown, I wouldn't get home until then. And if I'm in town, this would be after the kids are in bed.

Recently I was visiting w/ some family in the Quad Cities and some cousins took me to this family owned/small chain place that supposedly has something out our direction. I'm trying to remember the name but I think it was something like Puhctek's. I'm probably spelling it wrong due to some Polish/Czech or Eastern European thing I've got wrong.
Anyway, it was just a nice place w/ decent food, cold drinks in mugs that defied 2 laws of thermodynamics (I'm still trying to figure out which 2) and the people working there were just genuinely friendly and made it a good place to hang out.
I'll make some phone calls to try to get the name right so I can find out if one of their places is close by. Heck, even if it's a few cities over it might be worth the trip.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

I remember the name from somewhere. I think my husband has been there, some business trip. If it is the place he went to, he liked it. Good food, good atmosphere, and a nice selection of cold beverages.

Quadcities is ridiculous (if you truly want participation to be greater than a handful)! Better yet, we are parents and need to be local so home at decent time. I have read completely and have some concerns. Gatordog, as I said in a PM, time is limited so I don't have time for much comment during the workday. But I am more than willing to sit with you guys and offer feedback/suggestions and also am looking for some explanations regarding my recent reading of some threads.

Just got email back from the Mrs. and she agrees that location needs to be in this area. Any objection to that? How about Roundhouse, Luigi's House, Francesca's, Biaggi, Lantern, Jimmy's, etc. We have plenty around here to choose from.

Sorry, I should have emphasized the bolded part more. Yes, driving 155 miles for a meet and greet would be kind of silly (unless we were all motorcycle and car buffs too). By 'few cities over' I was referring to our neighboring cities like Lisle, Bolingbrook, Winfield, etc. In the meantime, what local places/times/dates do you want to put out on the table so everyone can chime in? This is a consensus, not a dictatorship so please, everyone, just start throwing out places/dates that work for you... It doesn't have to be that late either. BTW, I'm fine w/ any of the places you suggest. Some I've not been to but I'm always open for something new. Just curious though.. what sort of 'explanations' stuff are you talking about?

In response to Archwinsome:
My wife is a scrapbooker and keeps everything she lays eyes on. We were discussing the archive file and apparently her printout of posts is different than what is currently out there. Appears that certain statements that Davis made during election was true, but the archive file appears to have been altered to support that her statements were unfounded. I am not here to debate, nor will put the energy into it. Fact is that what I have read is NOT consistent with the posts that my wife has. Post numbers are even different. For example, the cartoon that this Eagledad posted is in such bad taste. That is not in the archive but my wife has it. One suggestion for improvement - don't use this site when elections, referendums, or any other matter with opposing views is on the floor to posture a one-sided point of view. After reading this, those that focused on this church and members giving money was not only in poor taste but not valid in many statements made. The P. Diddy comment is Imus-like and racist. In another thread I saw a comment about the KK clan. Bigotry has no place in discussions about our schools. Now I understand why one may want to meet a "few towns over". You can't possibly believe your identities are or will remain anonymous. Actually, I have no problem with people knowing who I am and what I stand for. My hope is that this meeting is to truly improve the behavior that was demonstrated during the most recent election. It was ridiculous and totally unacceptable.
I see that this Eagledad was very vocal during the election but now is no where to be found. With any luck if he was the administrator he has flown away.
