Why don't you PM one of the mods? I would have to now what a mod is and also wish to give it more time and attention. Frankly, I do not. Can't seem to get a direct answer, which is an answer in itself for me. Have a nice evening everyone. I need to catch the end of American Idol...finale. anyone who has the title Global Moderator after their name - above their avatar is a moderator that controls the board.

So he is asking for an archive on 5/8 when his wife had one already? [/quote] You need to realize that there are some couples that do not sit down and discuss this stuff in depth. She asked him to become more in tune with happenings in the area and what went on during election (since he travels almost 100%. He sought out information so that he can read at his leisure. When he came back for discussion there was apparently information that she had that he did not ever read. Relax, not everyone comes out with an agenda. Man, I think this is th worst season of Idol yet. None of these guys are star quality if you ask me.

OT Americna Idol LaKisha and Melinda should be in the final two. While I really didn't like Lakisha -- I thought it was cool to see Melinda next to Gladys Knight - as I believe she has that kind of talent....she will be fine just like Chris Daughtry who didn't win last year. Also - although Blake not my cup of tea either -- seeing him perform with Doug E Fresh - he has an audience and will be fine also. While Blake got hosed I believe by the song choice at the end of yesterday that fit Jordin's style, but surely not his -- watching his perform his style of music - Jordin would have died with that type of music. But all in all -- Jordin is 17 - there is a lot of talent to work with there - she will have a nice career. As for me - liked seeing Smokey Robinson who looked excellent ( the last few times I saw him he had waaay too much makeup on ) - and for you youngsters out there -- this year is 50 years since Smokey Robinson and the Miracles started - 1957. Also really liked Green Day's version of John Lennon's working class hero -- that's a version I would download to my ipod if I could get it... whoops -- off topic I know --

FYI - I banned spousestonethrow. He would have been fine with all but the last sentence IMHO. While I disagree with his analysis of the archives. He is entitled to his opinion. His last sentence I took as an attack on ED which for some odd reason he has some fascination on ED's well being. He was warned once before.
Southsidemom.. I PM'd you my email address if he wishes he can appeal to me why I should let him back. They probably both got banned as they used the same email address to register.

Since there's not much going on in 204 right now, I guess some feel the need to stir things up. I'll try to staighten a few things out.
- A post can be modified or deleted by the original poster at any time, until the thread is locked. So, for example, I could post something today, have a bunch of responses, then delete it. This is why people should quote what they're responding to. When a post is deleted, the numbering is updated.
- The "KK clan" comment was something that I stated. I was talking about "Kevin Knight, the School Board candidate" - anyone that was on this forum knows that the shorthard for this is "KK the SB candidate". The alliteration of "KK clan" is what came to mind when I made my post. I'm sure many of you have quickly entered a post without re-reading it 100 times to make sure it's 100% PC (and had correct spelling & grammar). Apparently peopl have tried to turn this into KKK (please note that the spelling of the last word is different). I went back and modiified my post to clarify, and saying something like "sorry if someone reads this the wrong way". I did not delete my post or remove the KK clan comment, because I thought that this would imply that I thought I had done or said something wrong. I'm pretty sure that I'm not a racist, and if everyone would feel better, I authorize the Admins to modify/delete my original post in the locked thread (if that's possible) if they think this will help reduce the negative impressions that some people want to publicize about this forum.
I hope this helps clarify some things.

I believe those that try to make it so have another agenda....discrediting open, honest, free conversation to put forth 204 issues to the public. If one has an opinion, engage in the conversation and defend you ideas. Dont throw out irrational charges. Irrational charges on a passing comment! Its like in the political realm...there are certain supercharged words that are such serious charges they effectively become meaningless. Whenever a side in a political issue starts calling people on the other side "fascists" or "communists", you know at that point they have surrended their ability to logically and rationally present and defend there ideas. I fully recognize that rascism is factor in American society. (Perhaps there are those on this board that disagree with this statement...I would disgree with them! ) Here is a suggestion to make the board better: instead of worrying about parsing passing comments or refrences into being "rascist", lets instead stick to the issues and ask if there are racial factors or diversity needs that are being ignored or forgotten about in school policy issues.

Here is a suggestion for improvement in a way. Its something I have wondered about at various times since reading this board in the last year. And this is something really done face-to-face, because its a "from the heart issue", that email, typing, cannot convey. Actually, its really something one does within themselves, and maybe that is enough.
What experiences do posters have with racism? Its a rhetorical question really, one to introspectively think about. My gut tells me that there will be two different categories of answers: one will be "where do I start... I could talk for a long time on that" or another would be "off the top of my head, nothing really is coming to mind in terms of personal experience". Obviously there is no right or wrong answer...its just understanding where people are coming from.

Irrational charges also including trying to imply that there is a 'need' to meet a few towns over to remain anonymous when in fact the distance was a secondary thing to finding a SPECIFIC ESTABLISHMENT without knowing exactly where it is/was located.
Additionally, using handles was only a suggestion as anyone is free to use and tell anyone their real name and intermingle as they see fit with others.

The last sentence is not less offensive than comments that have been made on her by others that remain. As for fascination with ED, this is Naperville and people talk. Very tough to keep things in the dark in this area. Many people have heard details about ED and why he is not on this site (which it is what it is and we move on). But covering or making excuses for others does not help matters. We teach our children to be forthrite. Stonethrow has told me that neither of them wish to be reinstated. Her husband says that his questions have been answered and eye opened. I don't wish to be the spokesperson for this family, so I will just make this comment - In Warriorpride's attempt to explain his poor word choice, people should not be so quick to judge others' interpretation. And I pose this question - WHO DETERMINES WHAT IS RACIST? Food for thought.

WHO DETERMINES WHAT IS RACIST? Food for thought. And what if the person who made the comment is fom the same race? You three called the P Diddy comment racist when you have no idea what the race of the person who made the comment is.

I agree that posts can be modified but I was told that a post which was repeatedly being stated was nonexistent was removed after the election was over. A thread having a certain number of pages and overnight shrinking to several pages less seems a bit odd IMHO. I can accept your explanation of the KK comment as possibly being true, but you don't know if you are racist or not? How can a person be pretty sure they are not racist? I will give you the benefit of the doubt, but again you are pretty sure? Hmmmm

But calling people's post racist is. If you piss in someone's pool, don't expect to be invited back.
