I know where the current land is but where is a new site since it doesn't look too promising at present. The questions/topics may have been thoroughly discuss a while ago. And Since no new developments have taken place, maybe they need to be revisited again... If your definition of "no new development" is a judge determining that the district has the right to obtain the BB land, then I guess you're right. Immediately after the hearing, we knew when the hearing for the price was set for. When construction starts on MVHS, what are you going to complain about? To be honest, you really just seem to be constantly complaining & rabble-rousing - and, yes, I suppose that you have a right to that. But, really, this is a DISCUSSION board, not a complaint board. If you're really concerned about something, why don't you express it to the SB? The people on this board can't really do much (other than helping get the referendum passed ). If you're looking for a bunch of support for your complaints/FUD, you're in the wrong place. Speaking of FUD, isn't it time for you or your husband to write another LTE? Dear Warriorpride meet ann concern...ref passed in march 21st of 2006 . We are still looking to see if the SD has the 'right' to the land. According to bob's post fast condem in may?? Wasn't it voted down once?? hearing on the 23rd of Jan??? Will this be final?? concern...2009 opening with no ground breaking in sight??? What about our children and the overcrowding situation today and tomorrow. discussion....if frontier is working,,,why build?? This housing market can't take another big ding by way of exhorbitant taxes discussion...what is fud and lte??? lost on me facts...never have never will need support for anything from anybody other facts...i have addressed the SB many times belief,.,,,discuss and rediscuss always brings new ideas and thoughts to the fore...change is constant.. it's wise to question cause otherwise it is status quo, saly, ssdd good night AE

Ann, The unfortunate way of things is that when lawyers or consultants want to create more billable hours, sh!t takes more time. That's just an unfortunate fact of life. I'm sure you've been 'held up' on something in your life due to someone else's horsesh!t.

Why does everyone get so fired up when someone asks a legitimate question? I find that really annoying.
What happens if/when the district has to pay significantly more for the land than they anticipated? Do they change the building in some way, cut back on some programs, etc?

I agree, these are legitimate questions. If the SB needs to pay extra for the land, they will probably do like they did with Neuqua, cut out a gym, and then tack that additional cost onto the 2009 referendum which will be for the education fund not the building fund. (They have done this before).
Does anyone know what the cost for our attorney fees are? That additional expense will also be added in 2009. Oh-I can hear it now. If you do not approve the referendum (in 2009), the school which cost you 125 million to build will not open because we do not have enough money to support the staff to operate it. Therefore, it will sit vacant. Been down this road before.

Apparently everyone here has a different definition of what a legitimate question is.....so I'll ask again. What concern do you have? ( Let's all refrain from bashing) ask it here.... and we can respond. Let's keep the responses civil too folks. I see you did ask a question.... IMHO the SB/Admin have been a bit closed mouth on that very question. It might be a tactical reason for that as they do not want to tip their hand. I was able to get a response fom M2 when I asked him about the potential that it could cost 420k/acre.....his response was that was too much. Maybe you could try writing the SB and asking that very question. Please post any response.....They are tired of hearing from me and certain others.

Also, according to an article today in the DH, it seems that the interest fro attending the Frontier campus has gone way up. There are 121 students for NVHS/WVHS attending this year and 693 NVHS/WVHS students interested in attending next year.

Yes, I did ask a question. And here's another:
Is there a chance the district won't get the BB land? Or is it really just an issue of price at this point?

Or is it really just an issue of price at this point? lacy, comment how you like and ask whatever you want, it's a free country,,,thus far The chance is HUGE that the district won't get the land BECAUSE of fair market value on this premium location. It's all about price which leads me to the question of??? Where is the real land for the next high school and more importantly??? where are all of the articles regarding the over crowded situations in the schools today??? Solutions for overcrowding in 08 and 09?? Silence must mean that there currently isn't a problem and there is no need for solutions for the coming years................hence no need for land or a 3rd hs, just a plan to use what we have and shift more boundaries to fill Peterson

M2's argument on price (which I do not agree with) was whatever the price BB gets set at would set a precedent for any other remaining large parcels. They seem to think they have a good idea of the property's value....They are just not ready to share it with the public while still in litigation. The overcrowding thing is old news which has been addressed, and IMHO there has NOT been a dramatic drop in enrollment to revisit projections at this time.

There are 121 students for NVHS/WVHS attending this year and 693 NVHS/WVHS students interested in attending next year. ALSO: from the article is the fact that 40% of the students spend time at their home school AND the Frontier campus.... therefore that 40% does little to alleviate overcrowding......not counting extra curricular activities from sports to band to arts

I don't think that is correct. They attend classes on a block schedule (90 minutes long) Monday - Thursday with Fridays off. If their grades fall, they then need to attend school on Friday and meet with their teacher. They are free to come and go to school as they please, therefore they are very flexible.
They will be offering more classes next year, and will take up to 600 students.

That is not a fact, just your opinion which is usually wrong. How's that never have never will need support for anything from anybody mortgage treating you?
