I agree. And why are the real issues not being discussed on this site? Enough with the "oh , you must be with Craft...., etc."

Better start thinking of another solution Hey CWAGA, Are you one of the people who bet me a box of wine that the referendum wouldn't pass by an 8% margin or more? Here are the people who still have not paid up on that bet: Ross Lets Get Creative Concerned Resident Purple Haze If you are one of these people, we could meet at the BB site and you can hand over the boxed wine. Also, please bring along a shovel so we can start the digging for the new school!

I didn't know we were spending over $130m to house 508 students! Ann, maybe you can come up with some solutions yourself instead of constantly bashing other peoples ideas? I thought CFO was in favor of saving money? If so, why don't you help us get the land so we won't have to spend more on raw materials because of the building delay? Also, I am sorry I excluded you from the list of the malcontents who are invited to the get together. Please have your ideas ready by then.

Or is the SB's "prowess" at the top of your malcontent list??? Solutions for what??? We don't need a third high school, plain and simple and therefore no new ideas needed. Oh, and if that idea ever comes to fruition, plan on a 2nd referendum for raw materials.

There are none that I am aware of
Frontier Campus...for now
also just a temporary solution
75th St and Commons...better known as the BB site. I don't really like that site either, but majority rules, so I'll get over it.
Actually I think most of these questions/topics have been thoroughly discussed in previous threads

I know where the current land is but where is a new site since it doesn't look too promising at present. The questions/topics may have been thoroughly discuss a while ago. And Since no new developments have taken place, maybe they need to be revisited again.

And Since no new developments have taken place, maybe they need to be revisited again... If your definition of "no new development" is a judge determining that the district has the right to obtain the BB land, then I guess you're right. Immediately after the hearing, we knew when the hearing for the price was set for. When construction starts on MVHS, what are you going to complain about? To be honest, you really just seem to be constantly complaining & rabble-rousing - and, yes, I suppose that you have a right to that. But, really, this is a DISCUSSION board, not a complaint board. If you're really concerned about something, why don't you express it to the SB? The people on this board can't really do much (other than helping get the referendum passed ). If you're looking for a bunch of support for your complaints/FUD, you're in the wrong place. Speaking of FUD, isn't it time for you or your husband to write another LTE?

The actual date of the trial will be set at the Jan 23 status hearing. It looks to be a May trial. The SD will also look to do he fast condemnation at the spring session. Not much more the SD can do than that. At least, we are not in Oswego shoes where it looks like their referendum just got voided by Blago. A $450 million school construction plan in Oswego Community Unit School District 308 was put in jeopardy on Friday, when Gov. Rod Blagojevich vetoed legislation that would have allowed the district to borrow money for the project. Several other districts were affected as well. The legislation had allowed South Cook's Ford Heights School District 169 to raise $3.2 million in taxes without voter approval to ward off massive layoffs. Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 in Will County was going to borrow money for building projects.
"A lot of the projects in the bill, like Oswego, are worthwhile, but the governor is philosophically opposed to parts of the bill that would let local districts raise property taxes without referendum," said spokeswoman Abby Ottenhoff.
www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/north/chi-0701060318jan06,1,1142751.story?coll=chi-newslocalnorth-hed Just read that the Il. Senate overrode the veto and the House must still vote.
