So yes, sh!t takes more time. Understood,,, but it doesn't change the dynamics of the current or very near future 'overcrowding' issues that allegedly we have and yet still there are no plans for alleviation regardless of the land purchase timing....everyone who voted yes should be jumping up and down for plans to help our students have a more 'comfortable' experience...................................[/quote] Ann, Clearly you voted NO, and I think it's safe to say that you are bitter. Thanks for telling us that voted YES what we should be doing - we can handle that ourselves, though. Do you have kids in school? I really can't tell. It sure looks like you don't want the school to be built, so why do you care about any of this? Why do you care about where/when the school is built? Why do you care about how crowded the schools are or will be? I don't think you really care about anything other than being bitter about the referedum passing, and how it will impact your taxes. If I'm right, can you please just fess up?

Overall, mistakes were made by many. But, we are on the right path now and attempts to discredit or derail the forward momentum (notwithstanding the slow court proceedings) are misguided.

I think we should be brain storming on how to help the kids now while we are waiting for the new high school to be built. Whether you voted yes or no what do we do to help the kids now!!! I don't think it is fair to the kids facing these issues now and that they won't be getting any relief. Why does mine or anyother child have to wait until 2009???
I am seeing more behavior issues this year then in years past and feel this is due to the overcrowding.

Banking on some possible future high school in the next several years, with possible sections to be completed this year then some the next.....blah blah blah.... does nothing. It just stifles the real work that needs to be done TODAY by the SB, community, PTA's parents and students etc regarding a whole host of issues (ie overcrowding in some buildings, ghosts in others, no room on teams....start there) or should people continue to leave this hornet's nest of a SD??? Lastly, if it takes 4-6 months to complete a portable as someone mentioned.........good luck on the 2009 opening

First you say you never
but you go ga-ga over this
and now
but all your posts are anti-SB, anti 3rd HS, and anti everything related to the SD, so we are now to conclude that what you post isn't what you believe in?
Another fun opinion made out to be a fact

Lastly, if it takes 4-6 months to complete a portable as someone mentioned.........good luck on the 2009 opening This is not directed at this post per se, but towards all the negative bull lately. I don't know about each of your schools but I can tell you the Middle school I am involved with these things are addressed every day, by the school administration, the PTA, parent groups and volunteers. If this is not happening at your school then maybe you and others need to get more involved, contact your PTA president or principal and see where you can help in any fashion - for those of us working with the PTA's, the school admins and the SB - this is business as usual and a lot of hard work. The MS we work with has crowding issues and has gotten creative with lunch assignments for kids so that they have a place to sit and eat....this is aided by parent volunteers and planning by the school admin. I know from talking to the school admin that behavioral issues are down this year from the past at our MS- and that is first hand knowledge, not a guess or an opinion. The school continues to excel in providing opportunities for education activities, sports, talent shows and the like--- without anyone bit***** about the number of kids. Every school can be like this but it takes leadership and hard work. just because no one has turned a shovel full of dirt does not mean there hasn't been a ton of work on the part of school admins, PTA's and volunteers to make the transition period before the new school is built more palitable. I feel it is insulting and uninformed to blanketly speak otherwise about all 204 schools.

Seriously ann, do you think the SB and the SD sit around not considering these issues? That is why constructive criticism and input is a good thing.
The SB is aware of various time lines relating to student populations and overcrowding. They know the alternatives they have at their disposal during these intervening months. Good and worthy suggestions from people from the outside are demonstrably, at least, considered by the SB. I am not saying they are always right (and God knows they are not) and that they always consider outside proposals, but at least they listen.
Look back through the threads and see how much work some of the old time people put into boundary mapping and other considerations.
Can you and the others in your camp put that kind of time and research into coming up with a realistic solution that can be presented to the SB? If you can, it would be great and should surely be passed on to the SB.
You need to put aside the fact that the referendum passed and that we are full tilt into getting the land and building a school. Come up with some interim solutions.

It seems to be thought producing to you because you keep reading ..and posting If you think avoidance of current issues is ok, be my guest. But checking yes on the ballot a year ago and forgetting why you voted yes is not good citizenship.

And if your not involved on a daily or weekly or ANY basis yourself as so many of us are, then you are part of the problem, not the solution. Many people work very hard in this district to help out at the schools and work with the school admins to help our children get the best available opportunities in school. The last time I went down this path I heard about how that person didn't have any time to get involved - well no one does, they make time. I put in over 60 hours a week @ work and I find time, although I wish I could find more. If you are unaware of these efforts, you are also likely uninvolved... which makes these type of comments mute. Don't tell me and others here we should be doing something as most of already are...and making a difference (hopefully) - Again the MS I am involved with runs as well today as it did 10 years ago when i was also involved, and is much more crowded today - as we see the need for the new school. The active PTA members and presidents, and school admins, and SB members ( well most of them) are well aware of what the issues are and work daily to address them, you are not shedding any new light on anything - the difference is many of these people are already making an impact as opposed to just complaining.
I was unaware there was a mass exodus from 204, learn something new every day I guess

Maybe if there was a vested interest level like yours at every school and problems figured out with unique ideas and creativity, we might find that an additional $150m price tag on our taxes is avoidable and unnecessary. And we will be showing our kids that we care and can lead by example.

Time research etc was done by all no matter where your priorities lie, The point continues that the platform for an addt'l hs was built around immanent overcrowding and all that that entails. Yet where is the 'working' plan by the SD to address this? Silence says it all, no squeaks, no grease needed. And if these plans exist, don't we taxpayers deserve to know the plans, dates to roll out what when??? Or are all of the apples in one basket?? One bad apple as the saying goes.... Let's pretend we get the land, building starts and a Fall Opening of 2009 goes as planned What do we do with all of those kids crammed into not enough buildings? That's where the effort should be put and let the courts decide the future

I think those are all excellent questions for the SB. Send them an email asking. They are generally responsive.
