The school continues to excel in providing opportunities for education activities, sports, talent shows and the like--- without anyone bit***** about the number of kids. Every school can be like this but it takes leadership and hard work. I am glad that you have done some work to make your school better. It is what is needed....action, in every school. Maybe if there was a vested interest level like yours at every school and problems figured out with unique ideas and creativity, we might find that an additional $150m price tag on our taxes is avoidable and unnecessary. And we will be showing our kids that we care and can lead by example. All I can tell you is it makes a difference, and as for me, the more I got involved the more convinced and satisfied I was that the new school and additional MS space was needed, not the other way around. I took the time to get involved and understand all the issues and that was my conclusion.

Now your starting to sound like our old Native American friend "Let's Get Creative". Your sole purpose is to stir up trouble. Let us know when you have something productive to say. Good call - Or perhaps this is our old friend Charmant? Whatever the case, I'm done wasting my time & energy with her. You all can't handle the fact that there are plenty of people who oppose building unnecessarily and some who voted yes but would do so otherwise if the vote was held today. You further surround yourselves solely with "like" thinkers instead of hearing other ideas and assume that people who think the boat is headed in the wrong direction aren't involved. So why don't you come up with solutions to questions that people have asked that 'differ' from your opinions??? S T R E T C H out of your comfort zone

I agree Gumby I think we should be emailing the SB about the existing crowding and how the SD is going to handle it until the new school opens. I don't know why the smart people on this board are getting defensive when this question is asked? I have also heard a few are trying to get their kids into Benet because Neuqua is crowded. It hurts to hear people want to leave 204, but it is out there. There should be and needs to be a plan with the issues 204 has today and not wait until 2009. Dr. Who it is good to hear how hard people work to make this a great district and I think we need to continue this work and give the kids the best even as we wait for the new school to open. Will there be more portables? ?

Will there be more portables? ? That is my point in posting now as I have watched the last 6 months and there has been nothing to talk about. But we are now coming up on an important court decision, a 1 year anniversary and still nothing done about the platform issues ie overcrowding and still no definitive future on Dist 204. I am sure that the topics recently brought up on this Board by concerned citizens will not go unnoticed by the SB members who post here. In fact, I am looking forward to future articles about said topics to hit the papers soon.

We don't need a third high school, plain and simple and therefore no new ideas needed. It looks like another piece of Ann's contradiction. There is overcrowding but we don't need a third HS.

Will there be more portables? ? There really are a hard working group of people out there making a difference...I do what I can but admire the heck out of some who dedicate more time and energy than one can imagine. Again I can only speak to one grade school, one middle school and one high school, as my oldest graduated HS in 2003 and my youngest is in MS - and the entire time the support group for the three schools has been nothing short of phenomenal. I hope it is the same everywhere, and from some I have met on this board, I know it exists elsewhere also.... As for Benet, there is a certain % of the Naperville population that have always gone there, it is not something new. My oldest took the test and a week before starting decided to go to WVHS... and my youngest will take the entrance exam also, although 95% sure will go to WVHS ( freshman) and Matea, but you always look at your options. Also onc cannot just decide on going to Benet. There is an entrance exam, and it is exclusionary based on test scores. Also they assign 'points' to entrants, and having siblings there or as graduates also adds to the score. I believe some that go to Benet do not do so as any type of slam against 204.. there are other reasons. One family we knew went there because they wanted to go to Notre Dame for college, and it was a natural lead in. During the 'boundary wars' I had some tell me that they'd just send there kids to Benet or Francis ...without ever checking to see that both schools at at capacity each year also. So as for some who boast they will be moving their kids to Benet because of overcrowding, I am sure some are sincere as I don't want to group them all together, but many are just blustering like they were when everyone was moving away if option this or that was chosen.
