I know that the Dr would have preferred to go to WV, and I'm not trying to put his decision down at all, but plenty people within 204 have been going to Benet and other private schools for a long time. ...all with their own reasons.. now the SB has given more people more reasons. The district still gets the tax money without a child in the system, so no one else should ever put down someone else's decision to do so. yes, to each their own, and, again, I am not not putting anyone's right or decision to do so

Indeed - because it is a truly excellent school - ( and happens to be closer to my home than any 204 HS except NV ( and that's only .2 mile diff)- I'm certainly not looking for any sympathy for my end result- it is a privilege to attend there - between their academics and sports programs - as well as religious education. However WP their enrollment exams are up mutli fold and the goings on here are one direct cause -- the same holds true for Marmion / St Francis and even Joliet Catholic. The number of kids from Watts heading there is not insignificant and I expect it to rise again next year.

I've lost so much confidence in the SB and the direction this district is headed. Who knows, I think some people are upset enough to try to stop what the district is doing.

I have lived here for some time now and have never seen so much disgust for the SB. This is such a sad time for the district.

yes, people will move or go private. Doc, don't forget Montini, another great school. Some of the moving part has already started here - including my daughters best friend - it is really sad. Yes people will move in, but if you live in an area where that pace is accelerated by a lousy decision - you lose a lot of friends. As for the private schools - they are not exactly getting average students either - the entrance tests are selecting some of our best and brightest - that is never good fora district as a whole. Having gone to high school in the city, I have seen this before. In the grand scheme of things it makes little difference to the whole - but the bits and pieces that affect select areas and peoples lives are important also.

At the SB meeting, I thought one person said they were contacting the AG and another said that a Non-profit was going to file suit...I thought it was going to be that Wednesday...but it was hard to hear at some points.

yes, people will move or go private. Doc, don't forget Montini, another great school. We have friends that live in Montini area - so I wouldn't forget them -- but it is quite the distance.... now if our SB was looking at this - I am sure Laidlaw could get me there in oohh 20 minutes or so....and we'd be drawn in the same 'area' -- but reality says -likely too far from anyone in 204. ( except the far far north and east where it would be closer than if they were sent to the 3rd closest HS to their home - but that didn't happen did it ? )

This set of boundies creates splits and commutes and the SB seems to making decisions without public comment. Their rubber stamping leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This is such a sad time for the district. there were some unhappy areas after the BB boundaries were released - and that was without the updated MS boundaries - that was bound to ruffle some additional feathers how many were going to the furthest school from their home ( those are the only ones I feel have a concern then) - and I can tell you since no one was going to NV from the north - that count would be ZERO. The area that complained the loudest was going to the closest ( by most routes) HS to their home, it was the same HS they were already at, and oh btw they have an ES and MS in their sub division. Sorry if I don't cry for them, Argentina. Enter Cowlishaw and Watts -- MS 3rd closest to their home, HS 3rd closest to their home.... yeah that was some fair balancing the SD did. They complain about the jury decision being unfair then unload this on us

You're kidding me right? But if you are serious, my kids read the papers, internet, and hear all their friends discussing it also. I cant control what they hear from others and so called professionals, ie Jim Lynch. maybe I should but I don't know who Jim Lynch is. All I'm saying is that if you're kid is hearing negativity, it's from parents I am sorry but I just logged on and had to comment on this...I am new and just went to my 1st SB meeting the other night and there is negativity from the parents, but boy there is a TON of negativity from our SB....I was actually appalled at their behavior, especially MM....there were kids there and they were able to see with their own eyes how negative he was....again, he wanted this position and it is his job to act in a positive way and to actually listen to the parents and kids in 204.....and he did not do this on Tuesday night....

This set of boundies creates splits and commutes and the SB seems to making decisions without public comment. Their rubber stamping leaves a bad taste in my mouth. given that most people seemed to think that BB was the best location AND there were even people unhappy with the BB location and/or boundaries, it follows that more people would be unhappy with a location other than BB

At the SB meeting, I thought one person said they were contacting the AG and another said that a Non-profit was going to file suit...I thought it was going to be that Wednesday...but it was hard to hear at some points. It was hard to hear, b/c a lot of people were not allowed in the room....this was another unacceptable action that the SB did.....there is no reason this was not held at a venue that could accommodate more people....another example of our SB's lack of respect for the 204 community....
