They shouldn't be buying this land until the tests are back, the site is midigated and the public has the chance to weigh in after all the facts have been collected. that's really not asking for much. I understand the tests will be back end of this week or early next week.

Brad, do you think people who got their desired HS are overlooking issues? I just think they are unaffected so aren't paying attention. I hear people who will not attend MV critisizing those of us who are concerned all the time. Go have a look at Parnet's proboard site.

I don't think that's what they're ponying up their $204 checks for. Then maybe we should all create a group for accountability. I'll tell which groups I personally dislike the most. 1. The I do not want to go to a certain HS group 2. The I am so glad I got my HS assignment I am going to over look all the other issues. Oh, and I will be self righteous about it My self righteous behavior will be masked as caring, "For The Kids". I hold both groups with the same level of disdain. Bingo

Thats funny because Todd(i think thats his name) from D204 said the test results would be back "possibly next week, 2 weeks max" at the locked out board meeting. Why the delay? not getting the results they wanted?

There are also people on this board and the other board who don't attend MV who sympathize with you and the others who are concerned.

As good as measuring pollutants from a car's exhaust - with the car turned off. There's a reason they're called Peaker Plants but I am also not sure EMF's are part of these reports are they?

There's a reason they're called Peaker Plants but I am also not sure EMF's are part of these reports are they? No. The Phase I and II tests have nothing to do with EMFs. The district IS NOT addressing the EMF hazard. Nor the pipeline problems. They are intentionally muddying the issue by continually referring to tests that will not address our concerns! Which is even more frustrating.

Lets face it , the difference in distance between BB and WVHS is negligible...this is about a process and accountability in my mind. Not to mention the arrogance and inappropriate way of dealing with parents in this district on the part of our new 'super'. Perhaps he is not used to dealing with involved parents and takes our interest in things in a defensive way. I don't know. I just think it might serve this entire process well if he were to be a bit more humble and understanding and open to public comments and criticisms.

I agree it is a HUGE mistake for the board not to respond to this. One of the issues that keeps coming up is that the MWGen site was not suitable two years ago. The truth is this. Two years ago, the church was NOT interested in selling, MWGen was still using the plant. It was know there were environmental concerns, and BB was an easier alternative. Well, BB is dead, folks. The church is willing to sell, MWGen is willing to sell so it all works. No, it is not perfect, far from it. It is all we have. To delay this further, as long as the site is safe, will cost us in construction, materials, and maybe loss of the site. We need a new HS now. If the ref had passed the first time, we wouldn't be talking about this. If you read the MWGEN SEC filings, they said in Sep 2004 they are shutting it down and officially shut it down 12/2004 due to pending enviro concerns fo many of their plants in general and epa standards. This plant had 0 pollution controls installed since it's first firing in June of 1970.

Brad, do you think people who got their desired HS are overlooking issues? I just think they are unaffected so aren't paying attention. Sorry I did not see this. Let me clarify by issues I am talking about the mismanaged process and all the wasted money. Yes, I think there are a lot of uninformed. Not overlooking. But I also think their is a group who will say anything to ensure the current boundaries stick. Just my opinion. Just like a lot of "concerned" posters started showing up as soon as areas like Welch or Spring Brook got mentioned in our boundary discussions. Again, I am not trying to open old wounds just giving an opinion.

You know the saying about old dogs and new tricks. At least he's stopped with the name calling but continues to stir the pot by scoffing and questioning the sincerity and integrity of anyone that wants answers.

There was no reason for Howie to try when we had BB, a more desirable site. If you remember, many people didn't like BB either, but the board said it was the best of what parcels were available. Whether the church was interested in selling or not, MWGen was still using the site. ---------- did you ever ask yourself..... why was it the best? to the point of forsaking anything else... even a Plan B, in case... lo and behold.. we needed a Plan B?
