I think with the new boundaries being decided, old wheatland needs to come off the spreadsheet. Old Wheatland, east of 59 should be reassigned to a new ES....all old Wheatland, west of 59, should become part of Peterson and go where Peterson goes....Century Trace is right next to Ashwood Creek, west of 248th...so anything west of 59 at Peterson would be one big happy family. I agree. That is completely straightforward and logical.

It seems we all found common ground on something.

Certainly sending all the Happy family at Peterson to Crone makes good sense....

plainfield204, what do you think your commute will be to WV?

Certainly sending all the Happy family at Peterson to Crone makes good sense.... It certainly would stink if you had to go to the second closet HS and the second closest MS. I'm also sure someone from Crone (Patterson or Kendall) could take Scullen so you could have Crone as before. Just curious. Would you rather have the longer commute and be at Scullen with your friends, or would you rather have the shorter distance and attend with some possible NV kids?

Seeing as we could walk to Crone, I'd guess I'd like Crone better.
And if all of Peterson went to Crone, they would be with most of their freinds anyway...

That is partly why maybe we should get away from the school going to here or there...what they should be doing is the Subdivision goes to this ES/MS/HS. And not worry so much about "splits".....Keep the neighborhoods together. This is also why I have not chimed in much on the whole boundary thing, because I think they need start at the ES and work their way up.....all at once.....

Try the 3rd closest MS -- Gregory --> Still--> Hill & 3rd closest HS -- NV-> WV -> Mv ! I'm, just glad we don't have 4 high schools, we'd be in Kankakee or ( well I'd say Wheaton but WWS is closer to my house than MV)- so I guess I'll take Schaumburg

They do need to start at the ES level and work forward...I just don't see the SB doing that.

concerned:
Commute to WV for us would be ~40-45 mins via bus. It's 30 now to NV.
Distance is ~6 miles vs. ~4 miles.
Not optimal, but not the end of the world...
Most times for me going to after school event would have me comming from the Rt 59 commuter station, which I believe is the same distance as to NV.

They do need to start at the ES level and work forward...I just don't see the SB doing that. Then let's hire someone to do that, an objective 3rd party - what's another few hundred G's there's got to be a number of consulting firms out there who specialize in school boundaries... of course when they applied this methodology they'd likely have a stroke over location:Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Strategic Resources West, Inc. makes extensive use of GIS when appropriate. This software correlates data, such as students or housing development information, to positions on an electronic map. Tying these database elements to the map promotes efficient planning and “what if” scenario building. Selected uses for GIS analysis include, but are not limited to: Locate students by residence and show relation to existing schools Illustrate where students attend school (e.g. do they attend the assigned school?) Developing forecasts by small area (neighborhood) to assist with school boundary changes Illustrate declining enrollment and school capacity differences Assist with determining best courses of action for growth, closures, consolidations, non-educational alternatives and other possible options
