Now that I won't walk to MV, WV is my first choice too.

Staying at WVHS is also my first choice, but I am also OK with MVHS at AME if that is where McCarty ends up.

All I can say is that generally most people at NV seem very reluctant to leave, while it appears that many at WV can't seem to get out of there fast enough. Maybe it actually is time for a changing of the guard. This is downright MEAN! I am a PROUD WVHS parent - my son graduates this year, my daughter will be going to high school in 2 years. I did NOT fight for the AME site, I fought for a 3rd high school. And I, unlike others, saw the writing on the wall - it was time to get this done or we wouldn't ever get there. I wanted Brach-BRodie like most-it didn't work out. I was heartbroken. Now we are committed to being about an entire school district and not just the "OMG I have to stay at NVHS because it is the only real school in the District" mentality. What the heck is that about ? We happen to believe we are lucky to be in District 204; understood the volatile nature of the school assignments in a fast growing district when we moved here and have confidence that they all are fine schools. As long as they didn't outsource us to Iowa, I was good! :-) I am truly sorry for those who don't believe in our school district and only believe in NVHS! Please don't paint us with some ugly brush of rsentment.

Perhaps some people are better at adjusting than others.

Maybe it actually is time for a changing of the guard. Or as I heard last nite some of those very NV people can't stand the thought of going to WV. fence - do you have a problem going to WV? I would be glad to stay at WV, to me it's a known commodity. It was the distance travelled that was the bummer - I know, my choice -. I also heard that Glawe spoke and mentioned that he was deeply troubled with some of the feedback he got pertaining to WV. It was so bad he mentioned it would melt your ears, or something to that effect. I am not sure if any of those people are here on this board, but those people should be ashamed of themselves, and if you know some of those people, you had best be trying to set them straight.

^ not all, of course. We are in every scenario as attending NV, but I was kind of looking forward to my younger son starting out fresh in a different (read - less crowded) southern-located school. Either Hamman or Macom would likely have moved us out of NV and that was good with us. I envy those northerners getting to start out fresh.

If Glawe was not prepared to disclose exactly what he read with date/time/source he should not have mentioned it.
People are claiming lots of hearsay that accomplishes nothing.

So are you denying that the SB got those types of scathing feedback? I read through that Naper Sun Blog, so I if things were mentioned there and were very "unflattering" I would assume what he mentioned as being truthful. How would someone go about getting copies of what he mentioned?

I don't deny that they exist, but throwing them out there without documentation is just as good as me saying I saw a person walk onto the AME site and come back with a huge protrusion coming out of their neck after 5 minutes. I could be referring to someone w/ basal cell carcinoma on their neck that I didn't see notice prior to them entering the site, but we will all draw our own conclusion of why I even tossed that statement out there in the first place, won't we? His comment (if he made that) is neither confirmed nor denied and is baseless without support. Urban legends start with things that have truth wrapped up in them. If he is going to call something out he needs to call it out with fact. One could also say they heard someone supporting going to AME to not have to go to WV anymore and they did so with very *unflattering* language. Again, what purpose does it serve other than to paint prejudicial picture over a particular area? If someone said something, call them out or at least quote what was said.

He will represent and protect WE first. He has done that. IMO I believe that when BB fell through, his ultimate goal was to make the change to WV the most palatable for the WE residents. I am not saying that is right at all, I am just giving my opinion based off of what I have observed with BG in the past. He will back that Northern site because he believes it is the best way to pull more SW schools into WV. It doesn't matter what he needs to "mention" to spin it effectively. AME could be a complete environmental nightmare and BG would still back it. It is his best shot at turning WV into the place that WE residents can be happy moving to. Ridiculous? Certainly! Again, I am not at all saying that I agree with this in any way. It's just an observation of his past behavior. I am in awe of glawe! ;D

When a school board member states in a public forum that people have a bad perception of WV it only serves to keep the bad perception going.

The other comment I did not understand last night was the Brookdale person that spoke about keeping all middle schools together. As long as LW and BD go North, why the intense interest in the rest of Hill? 7 is not an even number so someone's getting split up.

You are correct, But if I recall, it was SB discussion amongst themselves in the open, over material they all had access to. When he said that I noticed a lot of nodding heads of the other school board members. IMO that is confirmation that they are real. Would I love to read them too? Absolutely!
