I am confident all of this South vs North nonsense is going to end when MV starts up. After everyone is settled the only rivalries will be in athletics. This new school will be perfect in breaking up the Naperville vs Aurora thing. After a few years no one is going to remember what all the fuss was about.

Agreed. As long as they handle the new boundary process as up-front as possible, and involving as much public input without making it a painful mess like last time.

Get rid of any double standards from the process or criteria.
That way, when anyone else applies the criteria they all arrive at the same conclusion.

I am hopeful that this will be so, although unless they do something really whacky with the boundaries, you're just substituting Brookdale, Stonebridge, etc. for similar areas from the south part of the district. And WV will still be the older school with fewer amenities. It's not the balancing that the SB once had in mind.

Rock on "confused". The negativity needs to end. It really helps no one.

Sorry, maybe amenities was the wrong word - I just remember hearing, during the last referendum - that the school needed some work. I think the bathrooms had issues and it needed some updating.

I'm glad that they're keeping up with it. My high school was built in 1970 and I went back recently and it looks great. At the time I thought to myself that the district should be able to do the same for WV. I didn't know that they had.

Keeping data, costs, reports, facts/figures, trends, and any other pertinent factors that have been used to form the conclusion for the "best" site needs to be shared with all voters - for or against. We can think for ourselves. Agreed. I think you are right but am not hopeful as it certainly seems like same old same old. I do believe our only hope for the truth is not next month's election but the one 12 months from now. Better late then never.

I will concur with this -- I was inside the school a few times this year for VB matches and it looks great. I can't remember what they spent, but they spent it wisely as especially the hallways look wonderful -- amazing what some paint and adding some nice wood etc will do.... I believe the locker rooms and bathrooms also received care - as well as some items for the pool. Someone there can likely itemize

Well said. Bruce Glawe is a master at this game. I won't even pretend that I can hang with him at his level. He will represent and protect WE first. He has done that. IMO I believe that when BB fell through, his ultimate goal was to make the change to WV the most palatable for the WE residents. I am not saying that is right at all, I am just giving my opinion based off of what I have observed with BG in the past. He will back that Northern site because he believes it is the best way to pull more SW schools into WV. It doesn't matter what he needs to "mention" to spin it effectively. AME could be a complete environmental nightmare and BG would still back it. It is his best shot at turning WV into the place that WE residents can be happy moving to. Ridiculous? Certainly! Again, I am not at all saying that I agree with this in any way. It's just an observation of his past behavior. You are absolutely right. BG is the master manipulator. He realizes that WE is headed to WVHS and now he's looking out to make it the best school possible with his manipulation of boundaries. He will move whoever however to get what he wants (a "new Waubonsie") . Hey, you never know maybe MW can stay at WVHS (a good thing in my opinion! BG stood up last night almost in tears talking so compassionately about how awesome WVHS is. Give me a break! We all know it is a great school and so is NVHS. What's his point? I also couldn't help but chuckle when he talked of his daughter going there 10 years ago and how great a school it was (hello, that was the only HS she could have graduated from that year. NVHS opened that year with Fresh/Soph.). Topping that off was AT's passionate speech about WVHS. Yes, we know it's a good school and any child should be happy there. Does anyone think that AT will choose to move SB there? Unlikely. It almost made me sick to listen to her. It was like a well-orchestrated plan as to furthering the sell on WVHS. Why do members of the SB feel the need to constantly promote WVHS. Everyone with kids there will tell you the excellent reputation of the school. At this point, I'd just like to see a fair and impartial method used to determine boundaries. Personally, I think it's better that the Administration determines boundaries but let's face it, it's going to be a rubber stamp just like last night. I predict that they'll have Admin come out with the boundary criterion and selection. Then they'll hold a dog and pony show and we can pretend that our opinions matter. They'll finish up the night with a unanimous vote and everyone will go home happy. BG will get his "new Waubonsie", CV, CB, JC, and DD will end up with their kids all at MVHS and AT will stay at NVHS. See, everyone's happy?!
