casey:
From what your saying, BG will be pushing for the raising WV scores (good thing IMO).
From what I read here, they're no sane boundaries that will do this.
Anybody have any thoughts of how they could do this reasonably?

Put the closest elementaries to the Midwest Gen site at MV:
Steck, Young, BD, BR, LW, MCC, GT
Put the following at WV: Owen, Watts, COW, WE, FRY, PET, GOM
Not sure how the numbers work. May have to swap PET for WEL.
If they want to use geography, well then use geography and that way everyone either gets the closest or 2nd closest school. No one is sent to the farthest away school in the district.
Boundaries are contiguous.
Walkers are treated the same across the district.

Well said. Bruce Glawe is a master at this game. I won't even pretend that I can hang with him at his level. He will represent and protect WE first. He has done that. IMO I believe that when BB fell through, his ultimate goal was to make the change to WV the most palatable for the WE residents. I am not saying that is right at all, I am just giving my opinion based off of what I have observed with BG in the past. He will back that Northern site because he believes it is the best way to pull more SW schools into WV. It doesn't matter what he needs to "mention" to spin it effectively. AME could be a complete environmental nightmare and BG would still back it. It is his best shot at turning WV into the place that WE residents can be happy moving to. Ridiculous? Certainly! Again, I am not at all saying that I agree with this in any way. It's just an observation of his past behavior. You are absolutely right. BG is the master manipulator. He realizes that WE is headed to WVHS and now he's looking out to make it the best school possible with his manipulation of boundaries. He will move whoever however to get what he wants (a "new Waubonsie") . Hey, you never know maybe MW can stay at WVHS (a good thing in my opinion! BG stood up last night almost in tears talking so compassionately about how awesome WVHS is. Give me a break! We all know it is a great school and so is NVHS. What's his point? I also couldn't help but chuckle when he talked of his daughter going there 10 years ago and how great a school it was (hello, that was the only HS she could have graduated from that year. NVHS opened that year with Fresh/Soph.). Topping that off was AT's passionate speech about WVHS. Yes, we know it's a good school and any child should be happy there. Does anyone think that AT will choose to move SB there? Unlikely. It almost made me sick to listen to her. It was like a well-orchestrated plan as to furthering the sell on WVHS. Why do members of the SB feel the need to constantly promote WVHS. Everyone with kids there will tell you the excellent reputation of the school. At this point, I'd just like to see a fair and impartial method used to determine boundaries. Personally, I think it's better that the Administration determines boundaries but let's face it, it's going to be a rubber stamp just like last night. I predict that they'll have Admin come out with the boundary criterion and selection. Then they'll hold a dog and pony show and we can pretend that our opinions matter. They'll finish up the night with a unanimous vote and everyone will go home happy. BG will get his "new Waubonsie", CV, CB, JC, and DD will end up with their kids all at MVHS and AT will stay at NVHS. See, everyone's happy?! Casey - so much animosity! I can't believe what I am reading. I am sick and tired of hearing about WE. Most of the people I talk to are concerned about the kids starting out in one school and having to change. Period. WE has, for the most part, realized that geographically we are the most logical to go to WV. We are on board and excited for many reasons. There are many positives to changing to an established school. What good does all this c**p do? I thought the board members were sincere. Mistakes were made, lets move on. I am sure that there were e-mails sent out that were derogatory to WV. Why should they be shared with the masses? I have never seen so much hatred back and forth as I have lately on this blog. I hope the schoolboard does decide the boundaries without all the c**p we went through last time. THere is no way to make everyone happy.

Hey did anyone notice that Daeschner talked about North, Central, and Southern schools again last night and did not call WV the "Western" school?

Hey did anyone notice that Daeschner talked about North, Central, and Southern schools again last night and did not call WV the "Western" school? Yes, but keep in mind that MW and COW are considered North schools. If that tells you anything about reasoning.

OK, then cut the district N - C - S but we have 2 schools on the western edge of the district.
McCarty is not at all far from Midwest Gen site and neither is GT. About the same distance as BD. How does it not make sense to send them north?
