I don't deny that they exist, but throwing them out there without documentation is just as good as me saying I saw a person walk onto the AME site and come back with a huge protrusion coming out of their neck after 5 minutes. I could be referring to someone w/ basal cell carcinoma on their neck that I didn't see notice prior to them entering the site, but we will all draw our own conclusion of why I even tossed that statement out there in the first place, won't we? His comment (if he made that) is neither confirmed nor denied and is baseless without support. Urban legends start with things that have truth wrapped up in them. If he is going to call something out he needs to call it out with fact. One could also say they heard someone supporting going to AME to not have to go to WV anymore and they did so with very *unflattering* language. Again, what purpose does it serve other than to paint prejudicial picture over a particular area? If someone said something, call them out or at least quote what was said. You are correct, But if I recall, it was SB discussion amongst themselves in the open, over material they all had access to. When he said that I noticed a lot of nodding head of the other school board members. IMO that is confirmation that they are real. Would I love to read them too? Absolutely! The problem with how they got 'feedback' from surveymonkey is that anyone could force in their own rift-causing conjecture. Someone from the N could inject a nastygram pretending to be from the south and visa versa. Relying upon that way of communication is already full of so much room for errors before it even gets started.

All I can say is that generally most people at NV seem very reluctant to leave, while it appears that many at WV can't seem to get out of there fast enough. Maybe it actually is time for a changing of the guard. Or as I heard last nite some of those very NV people can't stand the thought of going to WV. fence - do you have a problem going to WV? I would be glad to stay at WV, to me it's a known commodity. It was the distance travelled that was the bummer - I know, my choice -. I also heard that Glawe spoke and mentioned that he was deeply troubled with some of the feedback he got pertaining to WV. It was so bad he mentioned it would melt your ears, or something to that effect. I am not sure if any of those people are here on this board, but those people should be ashamed of themselves, and if you know some of those people, you had best be trying to set them straight. I'm tired of people trying to make NV look bad. There may be a few bad seeds out there who would say stuff about WVHS but the majority of us do not think that way. It is clearly a great school with amazing programs and strong performance. The biggest thing is that people don't want to leave their home school. It's o.k. for WV people to say they don't want to leave WV, but it's not o.k. the other way.

Why do certain people want to keep this fight alive? What is the point? You would hope that people on the SB would try to support unity in the district. By continually bringing this stuff up, it hurts everyone.

One other speaker stated that they have "seen emails" that have been circulating on "the SW side" and went on to bash them. Why was that allowed? There is a double standard and the school board is exploiting it.

I see your point too arch, but I think that senario is a bit of a stretch, given past histories and all...... It should be pretty easy to check; Don't you have to leave an email address when leaving feedback? I thought I did.

Were you at the boundary meetings last time? Did you hear the comments? Did you see the emails regarding WV? It's not as simple as you make it out to be.

Again it is all based on past track records....all one needs to do is review the nastiness from the boundary fiacso. It's up to you, confused, to help change that. Those of us from WVHS have done just about all we can. I personally think that most here on this messageboard are not of that mindset now...They may have been in the past, but they have "seen the light". The problem is there probably hundreds more who do not read here, but still hold onto mistaken perceptions. They are your neighbors, not mine, so you need to find a way to become ambassadors and help them better understand.

Also, how can you tie rift@yahoo.com to any geographical area? If you know of a way that the site can use, I'm all ears.

I've lived in the district for 13 years. Yes, I know the history. My subdivision had gone to WV before they got switched to Neuqua. But every time, people take the comments of a few and apply it to the whole. It's like Jesse Jackson. He finds racism where it doesn't exist. He just wants to keep it going. That's how this district is - they take the slightest opportunity and run with it. WV claims they are sick of the disparity, but they seek to perpetuate it.
oops - I somehow put my comment in quotes - modifying.

Maybe then we can help to figure out what the malfunction is and help correct it.

I am absolutely disgusted.

Just people continuing to perpetuate stereotypes and the sb allows it because it happens to fit their current agenda.
