To Hillmom:
I have been to almost all of the meetings and I never heard anyone stand up and say I do not want my kids to go with those kids. Where are you getting that from? I have simply never heard that. I keep hearing and reading that things like that were said but I am yet to see anything like that in writing. All I have seen are hateful things on the blogs written people who hate Tall Grass or White Eagle. I am yet to see someone from those communities making spiteful statements the other way around. I totally disagree with you.

I really do not want to reopen the Macom can of worms. I do think its a dead issue. But I might as well state my peace on the subject since its back up on the board again. There are a lot of political reasons why this site was not chosen. There was also the delivery date.(2009 vs 2010) However, let me be very clear. Macom owns the land free and clear. There is a life estate so there would be a house on the property until the owner passes. Wow, residential development near a high school. Hmm.. The Park District was not a problem. That was a lie. The land report for Macom was full of half truths. Oh, and it also cost the same if not cheaper than MidwestGen/AME based on the last offer by Macom. Oh, and yes there is a road right now where the high school should be. Funny all the infrastructure including the currently turned off stop lights are sitting on 95th awaiting the simple traffic pattern change. Please, seems easier than remediating the MidWest Gen Site. Yes, Macom is also near the train tracks (although east of them), is near a pipeline, and a switching station. These items I can not try and gloss over. I don't believe you- Naperville park dist. confirmed info ... sorry... too many sidewalk supervisors. I do agree - Macom is a dead horse in this town. So I guess split shifts here we come. I'm ok with that! You are definitely welcome to not believe me. I do not ban people for talking back You are welcome to the archives were there is an email from the park district stating as much. But I have no fight in that war. I just want to make sure we remember our history. Unlike you I will be here for a very long time.

I'm ok with that! sorry, there is a very recent email from the head of the NPD upset over being portrayed as a holdup or concern over land swap- they were absolutely willing partners. They met with principals from 204 and never heard back. A similar refrain these days. If you would like to call the NPD head a liar - feel free.

Why are we talking like Eola is a dead deal? It's not. It may suck how the SB is blasting ahead, but they're on a suicide mission same as nsfoc, except their battle cry isn't BB or nothing; it's AME or bust! Full speed ahead, don't ya know!

( Add in Braidwood and we are all toast )

I was at the meetings in 2006 and I did not hear that come out of anyone's mouth. I did hear anger directed at the school board over boundaries. I too was frustrated over the hand written plans after the fact. I did see obnoxious people stand up and storm out, but where did they mention that they were from Tall Grass. I know everyone assumed that is where they were from, but the funny thing is I am from Tall Grass and was sitting by a very large group of people from my area and none of us were part of that. I did not recognize any of those people who were part of that group. I also did not hear them yell anything about my kids not going with those kids.

I know doc and some others are okay with split shifts, but I don't see many of the nsfoc group that wanted a 3rd HS but only on BB thinking it's so great for their home values if the high schoolers are crammed in like sardines. Talk about parking problems. They don't want their kids to have to share lockers. How about 9:30 am lunch? Extra curriculars? Team sports? They'll be vying for spots with how many more kids now? (Of course all 204 sports teams will kick butt!) I don't see many of the parents that really want a quality education and memorable school experiences for their children liking this result. Maybe they'll just send them to private schools. Would that help with the overcrowding?

I am jsut wondering out loud. When does the statute of limitations run out on being an idiot for these people. I mean whoever that group of people was could have moved or had a change of heart. I am not trying to be silly. But sooner or later we need to let the idiots with the orange shirts voting 80% no and the idiots saying bad things about WVHS go.. That part of history I do think needs to be laid to rest.
