I'm afraid I'm having trouble concentrating with all the new developments - especially Arch's new avatar!

Bottom line - We can not afford to build a comprehensive HS on the BB property. Other school districts have shared stadiums, pools etc. (South Elgin). So if you want BB so bad, are you also willing to settle for a school that does not have all the bells and whistles? OK - in all fairness, NV is out the bell - so are you ok without the whistles

Midwest Generation made a business decision not to sell. But now we have Dash blaming the community for the mess? All I did was what I was asked to do...vote YES and work my butt off to get my friends and neighbors to vote YES. The blame lies with the school board/school admin, pure and simple. They have cost the community tens of millions of dollars, flushed down the toilet. They have shredded neighborhoods and they have HURT the kids. Recall the old couple at the first board meeting after the verdict? I believe the gentleman called for all the SB to resign...I think they call it wisdom with age. I agree with you. Now would be an excellent time for M2 to resign and for DD to go back to Kentucky or Alaska, or anywhere for that matter. We need strong leadership at this point from people with no ax to grind. People who can think about what's best for ALL of the children of the district. We need representation for the entire district and people who can make sound business decisions with the taxpayers' money without resorting to name calling or retaliation. I think M2 especially is too emotionally involved to make critical decisions. Please do the district a favor and resign.

Oh I think it was sooooo professional for the name calling (NOT). Anyone who can't control their temper and use name calling shouldn't be in charge of anything. To loose control in front of the public really makes you look unprofessional and stupid. M2 will NEVER live that down.

So what the heck was that e-mail from Dash yesterday if he already KNEW Midwest Gen was pulling out (note date mentioned in letter). Why pump up the AME/MWGEN site as safe, etc.? Was that just a little hissy fit? Nice professionalism.

He continues to be an ineffective leader and I am hoping someone is advising him that it is time to step down. 204 deserves much better than this. We need someone who can help heal the many wounds in our district and who can conduct themselves in a professional manner by not using bullying and intimidation tactics (especially when conducting a SB meeting).

I wouldn't put all the credit/blame in NSFOC's lap. The School Board and administration have handled this whole situation in an unprofessional and arrogant way. They fanned most of the flames and stuck their heads in the sand (oil) without any effective PR or community outreach plan. IMO, they deserve much of the blame.

I'm always a pessimist, but I'm not sure this site is dead. My read of Mid West's letter is that there was a tentative agreement that was, from the beginning, scheduled to expire on April 9, unless a deal was consummated. That would have been about 90 days from the date it was originally signed. Since we have no deal by the deadline, the agreement simply expired. Today's letter was not necessary, just a courtesy.
The reference to community unrest may be designed to swing public opinion. The last paragraph indicates that they are still willing to sell if we decide to buy.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think this is dead.
