The numbers we were given for WV last night including Owen East are 2009 - 3318 2010 - 3082 2011 - ?? something lower, person next to me was talking so I missed it
It was said WV is tight with 2900 in the main campus right now but operated with 3600 the year before NV opened.

Trust me it was awful that year @ WVHS Did you have 3600 in the main campus only or did that include the freshman ctr? How much growth from Ashwood Park does the sb estimate of 3318 include? I doubt much will be built in the next two years , but who knows. Any advice from Warrior families as to how to handle 3300 in the main bldg?

Scullen is the most overcrowded MS in the district for the entire 3 years and now we are supposed to send our kids to extremely overcrowded WV! That means that for the last 7 years of my kid's education it was, and will be, like learning in a sardine can. Again, and I am not supposed to be angry right?

Kids eating in hallways - always late passing from class to class ( I believe they extended the passing period time but I'd have to double check with my oldest. Best advice -- tell them to have a lot of patience......

This site has said 3318, but references 3600 was a top number years ago. Are we certain admin. said 3318 for 2009? Tell me again, What is capacity at WV main campus?

I'm absolutely certain that's what was said last night. I don't know off-hand the capacity and of course we know that it's best to operate at something less than max capacity (that % was also given last night but I don't want to go through 12 pages of notes right now to find it, maybe 85%?)

Do I love where I live? Absolutely, but if buying now I would not pick anywhere in 204.

Can you tell me how NV being crowded is relevant? They're not going to be over capacity in 2009 when MV is built, are they? Because that's the FREAKING POINT of having the 3rd HS? So we're going to all say how we all need to do what we can to make WV equal and uplifted, and then we're going to cram 3600 students in the school for 2 years? The 2 years that are going to be the most meaningfull in terms of moving the needle on reputation? There are people that really need this to be a good experience. I mean, don't we understand what the current tolerance is here? Maybe I'm just ultra angry because my son is moving from NV to WV in 2009. I just can't imagine putting all these new kids together in a new, overcrowded, uncertain environment, and thinking that's going to turn out well. It just absolutely blows my mind. I can't believe this is even a suggestion it is so unacceptable. My kid can't catch a break! Scullen is the most overcrowded MS in the district for the entire 3 years and now we are supposed to send our kids to extremely overcrowded WV! This is one of the main reasons that it was imperative to get MV open in 09. Opening in '10 would have made the MSs and HSs even tighter, thru '11. Let's remember this any time anyone suggests "holding off" on trying to get MV open in 09

I'm sorry but that's kind of crap. I am lamenting the fact that WV is going to get the shaft 2009/2010/2011 because of a lack of attention, planning, and, oh, brainpower. Me pretending I'm Mary Poppins doesn't change the fact that there are 3600 kids in a building that wasn't built for it. We need to face it. District is going downhill. Reputation amongst people new to the area is not as favorable anymore. Do I love where I live? I really don't mean to be harping on this, but WHAT are you talking about? NV attendance is going DOWN in 2009. It will be getting relief. Relatively speaking. WV will be getting 3600 kids. 750 MORE than they have now in the main campus. Opening in 2010 doesn't incrimentally change any of this. The date the school will open totally irrelevant. Perhaps it adds some kids at the HS level, but it doesn't add 750 to ONE SCHOOL. Not anywhere in the freaking neighborhood. And anyone that tells me that this is just me not being cooperative is obviously NOT attending WV in 2009. Bottom line. Go ahead, call me a liar. My kid can't catch a break! Scullen is the most overcrowded MS in the district for the entire 3 years and now we are supposed to send our kids to extremely overcrowded WV! It was tight, but they managed. ETA: I will have a student at WV in 9-10 and 10-11, so I am not just telling everyone else to "deal with it" - I will be "dealing with it", too
