How did NVHS do it the 1st years? did they have Varsity teams? I did not follow HS sports at that time as my kids were still young.

They did not start out with Varsity teams the first and I believe the second year.

I know they did not have varsity teams the 1st year 1997 - They had all sports including football in 1998. Football team went 1-8 in 1998 and 4 -5 by 1999.

Now in some sports where there is just one team - those athletes got to compete immediately

yes that is likely how MVHS will open if we do not get that view changed - that is what I am trying to accomplish and trying to build support for - and more letters to Kathy Birkett.

Getting ready to restart. They had a delay due to lightening. You can check the IHSA web site. They seem to update every 15 minutes or so.

Got back from the game. Great time to have a storm. Every time there was a lightning flash...reset the 30 minute delay clock. Second half was awesome. Girls came out and just took over. It was a great game. Teams were evenly matched.

Saw Kathy Birkett and Howie there.

I hope others will go see these girls play tomorrow. Really a talented group of girls.

BTW- New Trier lost in overtime.
