I for one would advocate closing Metea Valley if that becomes a need.. Waubonsie can house more students and is more centrally located to satisfy the transportation needs of this district AND Metea is more likely to appeal to a business/industrial company due to its proximity to the new I-88 interchange and the neighboring area. Much easier to transform that school to suit the needs of a new business / or community college /private high school than to "sell off" WVHS. Absolutely! ipsd204.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=news&thread=2944&page=12#64632I totally agree! except if I am a local attorney that has been paying attention to the whole situation, the 'quality' of the land under that school will likely require quite a 'discount' before moving in- or some remediation (pipeline work) - some customers would likely pass period, rather than take the risks

I remember being at a Jethro Tull concert @ Allstate Arena one year- and the acoustics/ echo was so bad he stopped the show- apologized for the venue and said since he thinks he still was hearing parts of the 1st song bouncing around 30 minutes later- he would never return there..

Speaking of Why did CHEAP materials and HALF ASS work cost so much... Who got to sit in a MVHS Auditorium seat yet?
Show of hands?
Be ready for something more rocky/uncomfortable than the back section seats at WVHS (whose front section seats are VERY comfy for school auditorium seats).

Lacy, I have to take you to task when you post that district leadership is corrupt in some cases. What are those cases because I have not heard of any and I think it is irresponsible to post that. Maybe you should edit and say it is your opinion... Well, I'm not Lacy, but how about the President of the school board calling parents of a raped student "motherfuckers" in writing. Does that qualify Steckdad? It's fact, not opinion. Just one example of the poor leadership in the district... Facts are stubborn things.

Putting the need (or lack thereof) completely aside, it is sad that just a decade later, we can spend more than TWICE what we did for a magnificent structure (NV), and end up with something so cheap and ugly.
The contractors saw an easy mark, and took total advantage.
