----------------- hardly, 'some' booster parent speaking stupidly-- head of the boosters??!! I don't remember voting for that position on the SB or on the SD payroll. I didn't vote for AME either - doesn't mean there isn't any truth to what he said does it? Again if that isn't it, what is the new WVHS ? Let me ask you this- we complained about the comment to Rudy Keller ( is he part of the SD ?) - we didn't get any different clarification.. ( and I have all the respect in the world for Rudy)

Now they need to explain how this meets their criteria better than any other proposal put forth.
What's their 'gap' spread for academic achievement?

Wow, Brad will be happy. Owen goes to Matea. Looks like the conversation I heard that occurred in Owen really occurred. I brought that up last week as a favor to my Owen friends to be vigilant - well here we go -- how long will that bus ride be - !!

Doc, did you notice how MW is a 30 bus ride going IN the heavy flow of traffic, but the counter-commute today for the Butterfield area down Eola (not with the heavy flow) is what? 35 minutes?
And Owen is only 35 which is the longest one today?
Does anyone actually believe Owen East to MV is the same time of ride as Butterfield to WV in the morning commute traffic?
Add this to the already huge pile of dumb decisions based on incorrect data. Garbage in, Garbage out.

I have to agree with Arch. I can't believe they're sending all of Owen to MV.

I have to agree with Arch. I can't believe they're sending all of Owen to MV. ...Especially when I know for a fact that they had a plan submitted that sent no area to the farthest school, made WV be the 2nd best performing school w/ a total gap of 3.7 across all 3 schools. I would like to see their data to back up their proposal as meeting the criteria better.

I think everyone agrees geographic comes first. I wish it did without exception, then no area would be sent to the farthest school. They did not even honor geography with their proposal. An interesting note though. I believe almost every board member and the super is going to their first closest school, are they not?

I just saw the memo about the bridge.
City of Naperville – the bridge will not be maintained by the city, and will not become part of a “safe walk route” to school.

Okay, here's a conspiracy theory: Perhaps this is actually Plan B and the SB is keeping Plan A up their sleeves. I do this with my kids all the time. Give them the crappy option first and then they'll willingly take the option you had planned all along.

Will additional transportation services be provided? Additional bus routes will be added to the Watts, Owen, Fry and Peterson attendance areas to keep travel times within the district's current range. In order to best serve high school students who participate in after-school activities and athletics, the proposal includes providing late departure activity bus service to this same area. Early bus service is also being considered.

Their planA/PlanB worked so well in the past, did it not?
